I see the idea behind handout tires. But why not do handouts for every class? You would never do that for 12th because cars are set up to handle a certain way with certain tires right? Same with touring cars. Currently i have been working with Solaris because they have not changed in a long time. Jaco and sweeps got very hard. Have they been "fixed"? If you look at the last few handout tires races, Pre-worlds and Birds mainly, the handout tire ruined the race experience for a lot of people. Just my opinion. I will be there either way. Not like I am a contender to win, but I am not wanting my weekend ruined by dealing with junk rubber.

Snowbirds tires were just slightly harder than the normal jaco. This was due to the exchange of ownership in Jaco and the factory not prepared for the race. All those issues are fixed with Jaco now rest assured. BSR (New owner of Jaco) has some of the best QC out there. If they didnt they wouldnt be mounting most of the foam tires for other companies.

The pre worlds were not from a hard tire. That was a new start up rubber company that just had junk tires period. Some were shredding, some were hard, some just ripped apart.

I personally hate not having to run a handout. It forces you to bring/buy every set of tire that is allowed just to make sure you are not missing something at that track. And with 1 full day of practice it makes it tough sometimes to figure stuff out.

Kidding, glad to hear you guys are considering a spec tire this year. It's a good chance for the club to make a few bucks as well.

only difference a spec tire yields is us all having to sign up for the race and all our classes even sooner so there is enough rubber.

only thing that gets me more excited that spec rubber, are rubber tire limits!

Sign ups will start this Friday!

Like Hanulec said, It's important to sign up for all your classes so we know how many tires to get in.

We still have alot of things to finalize, but things are moving along quickly.

We have a primairy sponsor for the event and many companies stepping up donating some cool door prizes.

If your company wants in, let me know.

T-Shirts will be made up with all the companies who helped out listed on the back.

wayne - do you want everyone to sign up for "all" of their classes on day one? or will people be allowed to add classes until a certain "cut off" date to allow for tire stock?

It would make my life much easier if people signed up for all their classes right off the bat, but I know that won't happen..lol..

We're still going through the handout tire possibilities and quantities.

I'll make sure we have enough tires for everyone's needs
