Feel free to ask if you have any questions about your build
What type of surface do you plan to race it on ?

Is the battery a 1s or 2s shorty? And what's around the battery?

Good question. It looks like the battery is sitting on some kind of platform that raises it up????? I dont see anything similar in other pics of the car...

Optical illusion. Looks like a battery holder.

Very straight forward with pictures. There is nothing tricky. Invest in a simple camber gauge and ride height gauge and they'll go a long way.

My RK235 is setup to run 1s 10.5 open

A normal 2s will "fit"
But you would have to mount it inline with electronics on either side, as far back as possible

This would likely have a poor balance, especially for asphalt
Would recommend adding more weight to rear in that config

A shorty 2s pack transverse would be much better than full 2s inline

Also, most pan car springs fit on the kit shock
Maybe start with something like an AE Gold or Red, 35wt oil

better pic attached

We have a new track up north now that has a 240 back straight. I think this 235 would be sick on this track. Looking good Dave!

Attached is a pic of my car that has been run on the super high bite Snowbird tracks and US Indoor Champs. The idea is to have a class with WGT tires, 1S, GTP bodies, and 10.5 motors. I ran 5.0 mod in this car, and on those tracks, you really cannot have more fun driving an RC car. Its literally glued to the carpet, and taking a sweeper near full speed with this car produces feelings that no anti-depressant in the world can create.

Set up is just about the same as my WGT car:

.18 front springs
.22 side springs
Red Spooge in the tubes
35 weight oil in the center spring
Wolf Motorsports Black Center 17 pound spring
4 degrees castor
.5 degree of camber for the high bite.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking that full size lipos would give better run times-especially since my build wouldn't be for competition as there are far too few people who actually race these around here. How much battery capacity do you consume in a typical 5 to 6 min run using 10.5t or hotter motors on 2S.

Also sent email to speed merchant but haven't gotten response in a few days... I hope this isn't a sign for quality of customer service as the vbc lightning 235 kit looks pretty dreamy too. I'm on the fence...

Warm Springs Raceway in Fremont. Built last year. It's a bermed track. here is a pic of just the right side and left side.

That's a nice track! Make sure you get video of your 235mm on that track.
