Danny could wheel anything with wheels and mega-horsepower. He was fearless and fast in everything from Top Fuel dragsters, nitro funny cars, road race Porsches and of coarse Indy cars.

I've been wanting to use this throw-back paint scheme for a very long time. I waited till I had a body design that was extreme enough to look like it could have theoretically been a part of the Interscope Racing stable....back in their hey day.

Hi Dale,

I'm glad you appreciated my comment! I too was a fan of Danny "On the Gas" Ongais. I think when Hans Stuck talked about driving "balls out" he probably had Danny in mind-lol! I saw those cars race for many years in person. In fact I was at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1978 when they won with the Porsche 935 I posted a pic of. I remember painting and racing a AE 1/12 Lola t600 body with the Interscope scheme back in the 80's and it looked mean!

By the way, that Swift body looks awesome! It's cool how you can come up with something original that works well aero wise and is also nice to look at-nice work.

All the best, Ed D.

Hi Guys,

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

The website is updated with Aluminum McFactory Rev.8 and RoadKill 10 Chassis.

http://www.teamspeedmerchant.com/news.html

They probably won't last long.

Take care.-Bruce

How is everyone setting up the reactive front end on the new "black carpet"?

Hi Guys,

We got some great testing in down at 360 Raceway in New York over the past weekend.

The new Protoform Swift-235mm body was excellent. The body was very well balanced with good rotation. We didn’t use the Gurney or the small side dams and it was great, but I can see using the side dams in the future on carpet.

Ralph Morella of TQ Wire fame, ran his RoadKill with the Swift and the rear Gurney and was dialed also.

Some testing notes:
We ran a fan on the ESC, it was getting hot.
We ran a fan on the motor, but I’m not really sure if it was necessary. We had plenty of weight to add to make it legal, so I figured why not.
Ready to run with fans, our RoadKill was still almost 100 grams light.

Set up was…
New School (Non-Reactive), 4 caster, 1 camber, .19 front springs, 1 toe out
50 weight oil, old Black SpeedMerchant spring (Asc. Copper is closest), 3 degrees of droop
Blue Spooge in damper tubes
.22 Tweak Springs, 3 turns down from top and tweak
We ran JACO WorldGT spec tires (just because I still have a bunch lying around the shop). Didn’t have to true them down that small, and NO GLUE. So nice….. Not tippy or edgy at all with zero glue. Ran 2 sets all weekend, and the set on the car now could easily go several more runs. Tire wear was excellent.

The class is going to be a lot of fun. Very easy to drive yet still really quick. Fast lap in the new 12th scale blinky 6.5 mod class(awesome by the way) was an 11.9. We had several 11.8’s over the weekend.

Small vid of the testing. Sorry for the blue spray bomb Dale, we did it at the track. LOL.

Have a great day.-Bruce

Great! thanks. That's the same set-up I generally run on carpet and asphalt.
