Somebody should start a "Best of BERT Quotes" thread in the chat lounge. I don't block him for his responses are some of the best entertainment of my day some days...

Maybe I'm wrong but surely if you're balancing the car out after fitting a heavier lipo with a bigger C rating, it's the same as having less C but also less weight.
Car should feel a little more easier to make left right transitions with less weight too.
I have a gens ace 5000 2s 65c lipo. about 6 months old, seems to be good.
But I have the chance to try an 80c 6800 2s. Am I likely to see better lap times after balancing the car out?

A lighter car is potentially faster than a heavy car, but If it has a small lipo mah rating you will see voltage drop at the end of a run. A lighter car just doesn't have to drag around extra weight.
If youre club has a weight limit go for the biggest lipo mah while making weight.
My pro4 with 5000mah weighs 1330 race ready (car not balanced)
My TCXX with 7000mah weighs 1385 race ready (balanced)
The club I race at has a 1380 gram weight rule for TC

I think the misconception of this thread is, does your club have a weight limit.

3 minute qualifying, 4-6 minute finals depending on number of entries.

I would never get IP's as their reliability doesn't seem to be too good.
I was seriously considering ORCA's until a friend had a couple puff, one of which he has only been running since March and not every week.
My vote would be for Thunder Power, I have packs going back 4 or 5 years all of which are still competitive, but as they have Deans connectors and balance 'cables' (which fray on the edges of the hole they come through) I'm slowly getting rid of them.
They still test out well on my ESR lipo meter
