2014 U.S. VTA+ Southern Nationals in Music City U.S.A.

Hopefully it everyone signs up appropriately anyway. Since points for the national championship are only being awarded in pro VTA, that may swing some guys over that are on the fence and let's the sportsmans race :-)
And please don't get rid of single car qualifying. It's the most fun single minute of any race most of us go to all year long. And the no Marshall's make it interesting, how fast can you go without risking a crash (and a certain trip to the back)

I was referring to the national points, basing my information off of this post in the usvta national thread by Kevin

But I was presume that would go for the triple crown as well, since Both harbor and ft Wayne would have to run a sportsman class for thereto be a triple crown for that class. Since neither has confirmed they are yet, I would assume that to be the case.
Bottom line, if you are at all worried about either of the point championships, you should be racing in pro VTA.

Re: USVTA national points, Pro vs. Sportsman
Have the powers that be considered "grouping" the two classes for points purposes? Something like this: Say there were 20 in each class for demonstration purposes:
Pro:
1st
2nd
.
.
.
20th
Sportsman
1st = 21st points
2nd = 22nd points
.
.
.
20th = 40th place points.
This way, the best Sportsman USVTA could do is no better than the last place Pro USVTA finisher.
Then at least those of us who are truly Sportsman racers would get SOME USVTA points for participating.
Just a thought,
Mark

I would HIGHLY advise to not stay anywhere within a 3-5 mile radius of the track. The area I would recommend is Rivergate Mall or Goodletsville area. Its about 10-12 minutes from the track and is a MUCH MUCH nicer area and less chance for anyone knocking on your door at 3AM asking if you need some "company"!!!
