Credit to Smokem for identifying the issue quickly and giving a full refund. That's a company I will definitely do business with in the future.

It sounds like an updated piece might be a ways off due to the holidays and manufacturing delays and such. Disappointing, I was really looking forward to using some high quality DCJ's in my car.

The spool cups still work, I'm going to be trying those soon. Don't forget RSD DCJs, though, they work with Xray cups and are still very good quality.

RSD DCJ's developed slop a lot sooner than XRAY and Arrowmax for me. The pins wore quite quickly, then came the wear in the couplers.

Well, yeah, you got me.

This way you would actually get to use the outdrives and drive the damn thing instead of talking at no end about it like you did with that Evo6.

My Xray hits the track every race day, the Smokem cups are a nice-to-have on my list.

Also, let me apologize for using an internet forum, and dedicated threads at that, to hold discussions. Let me know when I'm allowed to post next, thanks!

I am still running the Nikita outdrives with arrowmax esc's and xray bone blades and have been pretty happy with this setup in mod. Blades last me a good few weekends atleast.

Will the VBC DCJs for the D06 work in a T4 15? I have two seasons on the ones in my D06 and they took a good pounding off the boards at our track. The dog bone end size is the same as Xray. They are cheap too. I don't have a t4 15 yet to try mine extra set in.

Default kawada spurs

Hey guys,

Anyone tried kawada 48dp spurs in t4'15?
Will those fit (or it only fits xray spurs)?

Sounds like you have been an exception. The guys I know who have been running the VBC (entire car) have broken driveshafts amongst other parts.
So much so that at least one guy has sold his VBC.

Try Reflex Racing's driveshafts. I've been very happy with them.

I use kawada 64 pitch pinions in my '14 for 17.5. I run a 96 xray offset spur, offset towards the motor, with the pinion on backwards. It works fine for me. I'm not sure about access to the set screw from under the chassis, since I always seem to have the topdeck off when fitting the pinion.

Normal Kawada spurs won't fit or not without some surgery. The attaching face is too thick. Don't remember if they do xray specials.

There are specially designed spurs made by third party companies to work on xray cars, I know of RW but I am sure there's others (I've seen mates' cars with all sorts of spurs).

I've been able to get to the pinion set screw from the bottom, but using the large slot that's below the spur gear. You come in from the back, on a fairly steep angle, and have to move the belt aside a bit to get to the set screw. But it works. I can show you Saturday

ok, so going to run again saturday and was going thru the car and checking balance and wheel weights. ERRR???? I didn't think the kit came with 2.5 and 2.6 springs just all 2.5s. I know I didn't change anything from the kit(not saying someone in the pits didn't play a trick), but the kit does only come with 2.5s correct? I know my vision isn't what it used to be, but I have 2.5s/2.6s on opposite corners... DOH!

Should be 2.5s all around, yeah. But as we've seen in this thread, whoever has been in charge of QA of the shock bags over at Xray has made a few... mistakes
