[QUOTE=Odin544;13540345
I would love to some day go race at Hudy Arena and tour their shop![/QUOTE]

Ironicaly, no shop at all, but the factory is impressive.

For the ETS they had the main Austrian Hudy distributor there in a van with lots of Xray parts. You couldn't buy so much as a bodyclip from them directly despite being at the factory.
That was a real surprise/shock.

As good as the car is a lot of club racers who previously were running xray have been buying other brands locally.
You mean an extra $50 for 2 versions of rear suspension so you don't have to buy the option parts.

'Buying other brands', they'll soon learn the error of their ways

Just (re)built a Mugen buggy, Serpent F110 and now assembling my second T4'14.
Built and owned about every other brand there is. Nothing compares to Xray for quality.
Call me a fanboy, fine. Proud to be.

Only a few $$$ in extra parts included. Not like it is an entire new platform but it is a great mark up.

The 'other brands' have proven to be just as good if not better in some respects.

The price bump is related to strong Euro and week Dollar. Nothing else.

Actually, the Dollar is strong vs the Euro right now. Only $1.29 for a Euro, when the Dollar is weak the Euro will climb to thr 1.43-1.50 range.

The price increase has not been stated to be $50 as many are claiming here. All that has been said is that there will be a slightly higher price.

Our estimated MAP price is $550.00 which is only $21.00 more than the $529.00 it was on the past kit. This probably means you will find it at close to $530.00 when all is said and done.

Regarding the pricing of Xray cars I would like to say this …

Xray cars are top quality products with excellent support (internet and on-sight in most major events), also the network of dealers and parts availability is top. All this stuff costs money! Just look at the internet sites of their mayor competitors Yokomo??, Tamiya??, Awesomatix?? What do they offer? VBC ok they have something, AE or Serpent doo a little more in this area. Juraj and Martin travel personally to most of the bigger events themselves! How often do you meet owners of other company’s? But if you think a little bit we all live in an era of consuming that is based on merchandising. How the hell do you choose your cereal in the store? Would you buy one with some tasty pictures and description on it so you know what’s in it or would you take one in a black box. OK this is a little extreme comparison but nevertheless it’s something to think of.

I don’t want to say Xray has the best cars, others are great too and in some arias maybe even better but the whole package that Xray offers is unmatched in my opinion.

Besides how much do you save if you buy let’s say a ‘’VBC’’ instead of Xray? 200-300$? I would say maybe two sets of tires on one kit. OK if you buy 20 kits per year then I would say go with ‘’VBC or something cheaper’’!

I’m not promoting Xray I have cars of other brands too like AE RC12R5.2 and Serpent Viper 977 I’m just tired of same old stories about the pricing.

Anyone else wearing their F5 key out waiting for the next update on RedRC?

Hopefully a new F5 key will be included in the kit.

Plenty of clues released as promised:

http://www.redrc.net/2014/09/exclusi...15/#more-86390

So we get ARS and normal suspension in the kit, very nice!

I like the sound of the combined motor/layshaft mount, mine was tweaked in the same way just last weekend.

Not something I usually check, but I had a tweak that wouldn't go away and that turned out to be the issue (big crash at Stafford - destroyed a marshal post and someones BD7, but the Xray survived).

The new rollbars will be very much welcome!

With the new upper link positions and ARS I better save up some days off for testing all this stuff out next spring
