Default Need Help! Just bought this , new to touring

Hello so first off just want to say I am new to rc tech , and just got into touring cars. I was really interested in buying a tc car and came across this on Craigslist, the guy said it was a " 2014 yokomo dx7 1/10th scale elect touring car se" it has a Novak 5.5R velociti brushless motor , and came with 3 2s 7v lipos, a Hpi radio and some other goodies. I guess my question is is the car really a 2014 Yokomo dx7 , if not what is it ? Is this motor set up good , and am I running the right battery in it ? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Oh by the way I bought the car with everything for 200.00 and the guy threw in a brand new nitro buggy chassis. Please help !!! Did I get a good deal , and what the hell do I have lol. Thanks in advance

Yokomo dx7?

There is such a thing as a BD7, but that definitely isn't one.

The motor and electronics are quite old, but if you're not looking to race, could still be fast and fun.

Not sure, but it may be a bd5, definately not a 2014 version. Btw, dx7 doesn't exist ^^

What makes you assume this?

Maybe a BD4. Definitely not a 2014 car. NiMh slots and the belt on the electronics side make me guess pre-2010

+1 with goots
After doing some Google research, it looks like to me it's a MR4TC BDM , which was the top-end Yokomo model in 2006

It depends what you want to do with it.

The capacity is very small and the C rating is low, it's far from a competition battery.

If you're just driving it around a parking lot it'll be fine but with a 5.5 turn motor it will probably only last a few minutes.

So what do you think would be a good recommended set up for racing / drifting/ and parking lot runnning? maybe something that does all of the above ?
