Here's my 2nd Serpent 747e which I'll run the Mercedes SLS on. I decided to go with a brand new platform so I can test out a stronger
powerplant. She'll be running a Poseidon 1512 2650kv 1/8 motor on 4s or maybe 6s and I'll try to get the gearing as close to 1:1 as possible.

This build will require some customization to make it work. To me, it makes the finish product that much better. For starters, I had to cut the chassis frame in order to fit the motor in, since the diameter is larger than the 550.

That's going to be a beast of a machine! What an insane build. We will have to videos of this think when its done

That's nuts how you had to cut the chassis to fit the motor. The motor to chassis size relationship reminds me of this

Evo, Be sure to post updates on that project here!

Got some goodies today, nothing really exciting, but still some stuff

Servo savers for the TC6.2, My Laps Transponder and a few extra caster blocks for the TC6.1, which I think will work on the 6.2 as well.

Have you done anything with that Protoform Trans Am yet. I can't wait to see how you dress it up!

Not yet, but I've been thinking about it and sort of planning it out in my head Maybe soon....

Was a long day at work, I went in early, got home late. However came home to some goodies. Wolfed down supper, cut the grass and proceeded to install the new parts.

Wheels and tires for the Trans Am, Evo just need the Back rims and front tires

Associated aluminum batter holders with Velcro strap

Installed

I love the Velcro strap

Associated Belt tensioner

Aluminum banded Delrin spool outdrives

They replace the unit there

OEM spool outdrive on the left

Installed on the left

Installed on the right

Aluminum spur gear outer pulleys

Shown with the plastic ones they replace

I don't know why, but I just felt compelled to have a black cased ESC for the TC6.2

Don't get me wrong, I really like the white, but I just wanted this car to look different from my TC6.1 with the white RS G2

Inside the RS G2

Blackened RS G2, looks like a G1 now

Hey Viper Z,

The Max Amp Lipo is a great lipo, but it comes at a great price—$189.00 for my 3s. They have a really good warranty program and hence, that what your paying for.

To be truthful, the Max Amps lipo was a 2nd choice. I wanted the SMC brand 6500mah 70c, 140c burst, @ $60.00 but they didn't have any at the time; they should be getting them in a week or two. I read and watched many reviews on SMC lipo's and while no lipo brand is immune to occasional problems, I think SMC provides the best bang for your buck. I've since purchased 2 4s 5000mah 80c 150cburst @$74.00 each, and will eventually purchase more.

P.S. the 150c thats advertised on the Max Amps is the burst C, I think the constant C is 70, I guess they advertise it like that to hook people in.

Thanks Evo! Yeah the prices of the Max Amps was what put me on hold... I've have been scoping out the SMC and was going to try one of the Race Formula 6000mah 80C, so that's good to hear you've had good experiences as well. I have one of these on the way to try out.

That thing is surely a beast when it's almost as wide as it is long! What a monster!

Yes, a 2s, 6000mah, 80C. If it works out well against my 5300mah, 60C Nanotechs, I'll get a few more.

Got some more parts today, I should I have all I need to complete the TC6.2.
  • Trinity 17.5 D4 Motor
  • Sanwa ERS-971 Servo 0.09sec/9.2kg*cm @6.0v
  • Associated DCV dual joint drive shafts for the front
  • 5x10x3 bearings to go with the DCV
  • TC6.2 Fan kit with mount
  • 3 sets of body posts for the various bodes I'll be running. I like cutting my posts to fit

Trinity 17.5 D4 motor

This thing is beauty to look at!

Sanwa Servo ERS-971 It's specs look god, and quite honestly I went for the color to match the Team AE blue.
