There are no real LEGAL wheel base to use.....but the history of the GT is based upon the true conversion from the existing 1/8th BUGGY chassis with the kick up, slam the suspension down, with short shocks, add 2-speed and on-road/rally tires.....that is the original GT-8 format. Low cost and still get the full scale on road racing without going for the 1/8th Lola GTP type On Road.
However, the short wheel base with the ON ROAD body does make the car looks funny...Kyosho then created the GT-2 with the extra 30mm extension and give the better "Scale" look for the GT. But....on most typical race track, the longer wheel base does make the car harder to turn in (More under steering then the original under steered car....). Thats why most of the nitro version GT that using to race are still using the short wheel base format. There are some TEAM C and Kyosho GT2 are using the long wheel base but it was tested the short wheel base will turn sharper and nicer then the long wheel base.
Long wheel base will be good on the huge European 1/8th or 1/5th type OPEN track that has huge turn but not the 180 tight turns like in the state...
Beside...short wheel base body are WAY cheaper then the long wheel base body....typical long wheel base body are $75+ clear....$125+ painted/decal.....short wheel base body are $30-$50 clear.

Yeah, I made a video of my 2750kv run on a parking lot.....it is usable if you are not at the track. Once it is on a track and do racing against other...when control is needed, those stock tires are not perfect.
I have Sweep ETX, Alpha and the Kyosho 45* that are all ready for real track testing. I am only missing 70* and SUNNY weather...it has been raining and cool lately.

Thanks!
I considered taking them off but found them useful for transponder mounting The RC4 transponder wont work properly if its mounted on metal or carbon.
Tried a couple packs on the local track yesterday. Super happy with it so far! Very smooth and powerful.
