Default Tamiya TA05-VDF2 Official Thread

This is an evolved version of Item 84132 TA05-VDF chassis. The original VDF's basic layout has been kept, but the vertical double frame has been changed to a single frame to offer greater chassis roll flexibility. The carbon fiber lower deck has also been redesigned with more roll flexibility. The 3-belt drivetrain features a new aluminum motor bulkhead which has a lower spur gear position. In addition, the parallel geometry steering setup enables a wider range of setting possibilities. Just like its predecessor, the new VDF II chassis also comes with high-spec parts such as TRF dampers, short reversible suspension arms, front ball differential, and rear direct coupling.

Is there anywhere else where I can get more information on these car from the drivers? Thinking to get either the VDF 2 or the MST MS-01D Pro carbon spec so making up my mind.

whats the deal with the drift scene in the US

you cant find stuff, Ive looked into the TC-FD and the VDF2 and I havent bought either one for the lack of spare parts or info about the chassis.

the E4D MF pro is the only thing I can find spare parts for. even something as simple as belts.

I just recently got into the RC drifting, and right away jumped on the sprint 2 due to knowing nothing about the hobby...reading more into it and now me wanting to deffinatly go CS, these front mounted motor chassis seem alot better and have alot more CS kits available. But I am going to stick with my sprint 2 and just tune/mod it until im satisfied with it.

Iv done a bunch to it within the month iv had it and yesterday just picked up some universal dogbons so i can shave the Chub / buckle for more steering angle.

Im going to start with the easiest CS 53% to start. and then mess with getting more weight into the front of chassis and softer springs for weight shifting.

seems most people just throw what they already have in it and drive it.

I have an 8.5 in my sprint 2 drift right now but my VDF2 shipped today.
im thinking of going with something between 8.5-13 for the vdf2

can someone post a link or a part number for all the belts that are in the car, I wanna order at least one spare of each belt but I dont have part numbers or know any places that sell them.

for a battery im sure any 5000mah lipo will fit fine, i may go with one in some kind of carbon wrapping to match the chassis
