Sounds like there will be a good field of Exotek conversions running at the Reedy Race in a few weeks! I'll update here with pictures during the race

What class driving the Exotek EVO6?
Stock class 13,5Turn?

That would be nice if you hold us in the running.
I personally only drive Stock classes and therefore very interesting as beat the Shaft Tamiya Cars

17.5 and 13.5 racers. 17.5 is the biggest class at the Reedy race.

Aluminum Gearbox

Installed for the upcoming Reedy Race this week

Slightly different shape, very nice accurate fitting parts
10g heavier over stock plastic

Notably less chassis flex with these

Is it both upper and lower pieces?

I was under the impression it was only lower.

How much smoother is the drive train?

Edit: I got too excited. After looking at both pics realize it's just the lower

I think an aluminum upper with 419x style camber link is just the project Exotek needs!

Just lower, pics show top and bottom views of each
It is very smooth, but tbh, it was smooth before as well, maybe I had good plastic parts ?

Lower is slightly wider where diff bearings rest, so make sure to shim to top case, not bottom case, other than that, they are simple bolt on parts

Look forward to testing the effects this week on that sweet Tamiya track

Thanks for the pics!

My plastic boxes are very free as well but I don't have the top shell tightened down... the real problem with the plastic lower case for me is that the top plate posts kind of point in 2 different directions (warpy plastics) lol
These should help a lot to correct that!
