3300 vs 3700 vs 3800
 

Hello

Just wondering alot of people are now phasing in 3700 and 3800 to race with. Are these better than the 3300. I have also always been told that 3700 dont match aswell and hold their charge. I need new batts is it worth going the next step and getting 3700?

I'm only using GP cells, but going from GP3300 to GP3700 gives more speed and runtime. I don't think the punch "fades" by the end, they are very consistent. So go get yourself some 3700's :-)

In our track testing and what we have seen for results lately at some of the bigger races the IB3800 are faster than GP cells.

Last weekend a racer using GP3700 ran one of our IB3800 packs in the mains and picked up .20 or so per lap by only changing packs.

My IB3800's from EA are total Rip sticks. I was extremely impressed with the IB3800 cell.

charged them same as GP3300 5.5 .03mvcis it right
can`t believe the IB3800 are heavier then GP37`s :(

SMC suggests 6 amps at a 30 mv cutoff. I've been using 5 amps with a 20 mv cutoff and the batteries end up beeing a bit cooler. I've also been experimenting with the step charging profile on nexus racing with success as well.

How much more than a set of 3300s, do a pack of 3700s and 3800s weigh ready to race?

when mine are all built with heatshrink on cells aswell with tubes
3300 = 395g
GP3700 = 410g
IB3800 = 420g

the cells were getting quite hot so i stop charging them early
but they registered 4478 mah on my eagle
when a discharged them 3895 came out on 20a load
This was the very first charge . i do expect this to get better with the next 2-4 charges

IR was a lot better then i have ever seen on my eagle had it for 1 & half now , so i know my charger settings

I spoke with a team guy who runs for a company who matches GP3700's.
They said their best shorted 4 cell of 3700's went 350, 4.75, 9.2

I have an IB3800 that goes 352, 4.75, 8.8 and I know I am not on the top of food chain with my sponsor. Definately a good pack but I know there are probably better ones out there. So my numbers alone I would say the 38's seem a bit better. You can't beat their under 9.0 IR's
I have never seen a GP pack go under 9.1

I too ran my 3700 and 3800 back to back and found the 3800 to have more punch and were slightly faster in lap times....These IB 3800 are the real deal.

To add my 3700 were dead shorted and my 3800 were not and I have no plans too the way they run.

To be seen, I dead shorted 1 pack and was not happy the others were not shorted and were KILLER.

How do you guys discharge your IB3800s ?? Also is it ok to deadshort the IB3800s ??

When you say deadshort, are you talking about traying them well past when the lights go out (overnight), or do you mean traying them and then connecting the pos and neg for a true deadshort?

We tested both GP3700s and IB3800s on low wind modified motors. According to our findings, the IB3800 is slightly better overall :sweat: :sneaky: :nod:

Also forgot to mention, that although I use the Integy 030 (30 amp) to discharge the IB3800 almost to zero each time before I charge, runtime on the track still matches that of the GP3700 which is discharged only till about 5.4v (0.9 per cell) :eek: :D ;)

Our choice is definitely IB3800 :tire:
