Darkseid - u cannot lug a p2k2 like that or it just plain wont come off the corner. on a large carpet track i wont run smaller than a 6.69 fdr. some i run at 6.86 on the same layout. and u described a tight or small layout, i'd run stock springs, 767 brushes, and a final drive of 7.15. some guys get the to work on our big track as well but its a tad short at the end of the strait. hope that helps.

Iceberg - cells are cells.

The benefits of a saddle/side-by-side layout are weight distribution (lower in most cars), and the ability to use quality battery bars and solder joints (most stick packs use thin metal tabs spot welded on to the cells).

I stopped using mine but there's a guy at our track who has a Fantom P2K2 and he gears it at 7:0. Long Straights though, he pretty dominiated the race

shrekair: Well, I'm not sure what the exact sizes are. Yeah, its on-road. The short track is nearly all turns with a short straight. I don't even know why I mentioned the medium track since I use a different motor for there and the local large track.

Mike F: I'm on the verge of stopping using mine! It just hasn't performed like I hoped it would. Other locals are running the Peak Hellfire, and just plain flying. Besides that, the thing sounds horrible! The motor is the loudest stocker I have ever heard. It sounds like I'm dragging a chirpping bird around in my car! Its been that way since I took it out the package and hasn't changed.

So far, after breaking in the bushings, I am using Reedy 767's and a tweaked red + spring & red - spring (trinity). Numbers on the Robi indicate this should be a very strong motor. 170 Nmm torque (p2k territory), 125 watts (this type of arm is not the wattage king), excellent efficiency, 30500 rpm (max)....but the average power numbers are very, very good.

Make sure the brushes are aligned!!

With my Hellfires and Core, I've aligned the brush hoods (all were good from factory), polished the bushings on 2, reemed the on the other, 4499 brushes Trinity purple/red springs, around 29.000rpm, 126-127 power, 81-82 average power. I forgot the torque though, but they're very, very strong motors.

I used my Core today, very strong motor-it felt like the torque of a P2K and the RPM of a P2K2. I ran a FDR of 7.1. However, it got really hot; given, the air temp was in the high ninties, but still hotter than my Trinity motors. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Wink

Try reducing the brush width slightly. This has been recommended due to the similarities between the MVP and Core/Hellfire motors.

Mine get a little warmer than my Trinity motors, but not so hot that I worry about them.

Simon-cool, I'll try that. Do you know if it reduces torque any?
