What tamiya cleaning brush u are refering too. i have no ideas. what does it look like or u have the part number for it??? i only use comm drop on the motor before the run as it acts like a lubricant for smoother run. although it may dirty the commutator later, just use tissue to clean it off. i dun know have such thing to clean the motors...Can recommnd??

I got a few NiMH batteries to play..quite X and i buy it when i running modified motor where NiCD can't last. also that time 2400NiCd and 3000NiMH price are a bit difference only, so buy NiMH instead... A lot of tips through the website say NiCd has more punch.....i also no choice.....Unless got some from lucky draw next time. hee hee

I use Tribo drops on the bushings but haven't used it on the comm for a while as I hate spraying the motor out.
I'd rather pull it apart to clean it and that takes way too long...

Nicad can't last on mod? Hmm I use 2400s for my 14x2, it can last me at least 7 minutes @ yuan ching, my GP batteries can let my car run for 8 minutes plus plus... on a 14x2. I went for the rcmc race, when I came back I could discharge 800mAh out of my 3k cells... Nicads definitely more punch, but I haven't compared to HVs - the HVs are supposedly more punchier than Nicads.

i just check my brushes after i ran today(6packs) and was shock to see that 1/3 of it is gone...new legth approx. 10mm now only 7mm left....as i see the brush would only last me for another 6 more packs b4 the spring will hit the end of the slot in the hood....does brushes wear this fast???i'm new to electric...the motor is a Kawada stock 23t(closed endbell)..brushes and spring are stock that came with the motor...could it be that i overgear the motor??

What is your final drive ratio for your Kawada 23T? The ratios me and my kakis run vary from 6.1 to 6.4, I usually run 6.4:1 FDR.

Also, I recently got a Team Atlas 23x2 modified motor, it has higher speed, better run time, and thanks to the adjustable timing I can run timing which is easy on the comm. Try to get a high turn mod motor! Can cut the comm very much easily!

Your brush wear IMO a bit high.... I ran the kawada brushes before, ok leh! Check your drivetrain if there is any binding etc. Get it as free as possible...

Ian: Which track/where are you running at? There are many ways to gear the bugger, you may want to read Chapter 5 at this website. Another note is the site recently got updated...

I got the Team Atlas @ Swan, but it's all sold out.... Make sure it is the Modified, not Stock. You may want to try getting a modified Yokomo S-Power, I'm sure there are 15 or 17 turn winds around (Last I went sam had one of those, or find kasey). You can run these at a lesser timing to get good run time, and wear. But uh.... probably the pick up won't match the hiong hiong timing of a 23T stocker

I ran a Tamiya Type T against my shifu's Dyna Run Super Touring (13x2) i could out accelerate him, though his top end was better. His timing was about 1 or 2 mm...

One more thing, if your car has ball diffs, ensure that they are not slipping. The motor runs very hot if either slips.... for some reason... idle too much at maximum rpm

Where would you guys gear a P2K2pro for a tight track with a medium straightaway. I've already tried going just below 6.0 to get some speed and I'm still getting killed on the straight by people running ratios around 7.0!

Any advice would be appreciated.
