Default Today's App Update

Today’s LearnSetup.com App Updates include…

New Instructional Videos Section
I will be adding my own videos very soon, but I talked to Paul Lemieux, and he said it was ok to share his videos as well. So I added two Videos from Paul.
  • Tire Saucing
  • Diff Building

New Section on Chassis Flex
This new section within ”Setup Adjustments” talks about how you can use chassis flex to tune your car.

I also added a feature to automatically remember your password, thanks to Eric Epps suggestion a few days ago.

Cheers.

Hey Martin,

Would it be possible to add some info on the effect of changing the mounting point of the shock on the arm. I vaguely remember there being something about it in the book, but can't remember totally!

Cheers
Ed

Hey Ed, good point...I talk about the angle of the shock in the shock position section, but I don't talk about the mounting point on the arm. (i.e. the outer hole on the arm will create a stiffer wheel rate)

Hi,

If you are referring to the setupworkbench app on android that is a different app than the LearnSetup.com app. I decided to not continue development on the setupworkbench app as it was device/platform specific. So I create the LearnSetup.com app which will run on any device, and although it is based on the content in the setupworkbench.com app, it has evolved a fair amount and has new features such as sharing setups, as well as new setup knowledge content compared to setupworkbench.com

Martin.

How will thicker/thinner oil affect a car's handling performance? I always thought that lighter oil will give better off power steering out of the turn, while thicker will give more on power steering, but I'm not expert by any means.

Also, what about turn in between say, 1k oil to 3k oil?

I hear you. I knew when I setup the LearnSetup.com app, that this scenario might happen, so I want to make the following more than fair offer.

Since LearnSetup.com went live on Feb 22/2014 and since that date the setupworkbench.com site indicates that the LearnSetup.com app is also available, I will offer anyone who purchased the old Android or IOS setupworkbench.com app up to one month prior to Feb 22/2014 a way to convert to the LearnSetup.com app

So,...

Anyone who purchased the old android or apple app between Jan 22/2014 and Feb 22/2014 and wants to instead convert that to the new app, email me with proof that you made the purchase in the last 30 days and I will pay you back what you paid for the android or iphone app via paypal once you sign-up for LearnSetup.com.

This is not something I have to do, but it just seems like the right thing in my mind.

My email address is mcrisp at learnsetup.com

Are you talking about diff oil? I think you are because you reference 1k oil and 3k oil in your second paragraph

Thin oil will give you more off power steering and less on power steering.

Thick oil will give you slightly less off power steering and more on power steering.

So turn-in with 1k oil will be better than 3k oil.

Hope that helps

Yup, sorry thought I put gear diff in there somewhere lol.

That's exactly the answer I was looking for! Thanks
