Hi guys
I want to start doing f1 class at our local club. What chassis would you reccommend to get and why? Tamiya, Speed Passion, Yokomo, Serpent.... etc....

Hi, Go to RC www/RC Formula 1.com.au and under articles read the reviews
on all formula 1 kits available and their pro and cons. I personally own a Tamiya
F104 V.2 but tha is a personal preference and there are many kits out in the market. Regards

Almost any are good. If you want to race in TCS then Tamiya is your only choice but if it's just for club racing then the SpeedPassion is a good buy.

what is a main difference between 104 pro, 104 x1 and 104 v2? i see pro version is a bit different...

Yeah was thinking about Speed Passion SP1 but there is not many parts out there for it...

i run a sy-brand fs104ww and it's just as fast as anything else, i think with the F1 the tyres are the limiting factor not the car but thats nothing new

The SP1 is your best buy. There are all the parts you will ever need at Speed Power.com and at F1 RC/Lab, both in the US an excellent inventory. You would not have to worry about parts for this car if you ever need them. It all depends
on your budget. They are all good so buy the one you like. Regards

- speed passion will be my next one

I have a F104 Pro Black edition with X1 parts. The reasoning is that I wanted a kit with enough parts on the market to keep running for awhile and I got a great deal on a new kit.

I purchased a F104WGP but wanted more modern looks and eventually converted it to a X1. I recently bought a F1R2 Exotek conversion and can't believe the difference it made. It's WAY faster.

The bottom line is that it turns so much better but doesn't spin out. I battled getting either rendition of my F104 to turn enough on our small, tight indoor carpet track. I could make it better but never good. The difference was night and day and the lap times dropped considerably.

I follow the UF1 racing stuff on the West Coast and the F1R2 jumped straight to the top of the leaderboard once it came out. That's what initially gave me the confidence to buy one. It is a conversion kit but you can buy the kit and the extra needed parts to build it from scratch. I think it was F1 Paint Lab that will put together a package for you. BP Shadow is the avatar name on here.

For the record, I am a slow guy with no company affiliations. I don't know any of these guys. Just my experience.

Was thinking to get 104pro ver but now probably gonna think more. Seen still available v2 and x1 for under 200$ (im in Europe) + customs duty.
As f1 is open wheel, just thinking how durable is front suspension than?

Serpent looks nice but id say is out of my budget, so will probably stay with one of Tamiyas or Speed Passion car (looks even better than Tamiya)

It's a lot stronger than you think. My avatar name is that way for a reason: I hit everything in sight, often twice. I was pleasantly surprised at how sttrong they are. I break more stuff in TC.

The SP-1 is the more durable front end when compared to Tamiya, and much more adjustable. The Exotek F1R2 is the king of the mountain, hands down.
