Smile 540 micro

Hi,

I am going to try again and reach 70-80 mph, but with a different setup.
Here is my new setup (as far as electronics and a few chassis mods)
Batts: SMC IB3600, 1.168 volts per cell (takes place of 8 cp-1300 cells)
Esc: LRP Quantum pro (takes place of GM V12)
Radio: JR R-1 with PCM module and reciever
Motor: Team Orion Revolution V2 12x1 HS (takes place of Epic binary 2 10x1)

Chassis mods: Motor moved to rear of drive shaft case (behind rear wheels). It seems to make it accelerate better (since more weight is on the back wheels due to the suspension design), but I don't know about handling yet though. The rear suspension was also moved (pics of new parts and suspension mod: http://www.one18th.com/GetGallery6757.htm).

If you have any suggestions for me that would be helpful.

Thanks and sorry for the trouble earlier (some members might know of this).

OK ajg, how are you going to verify your speed?
I'm not starting anything, can you put in the complete verification procedure?

I'm going to do some test runs using only the vsm. When I reach a speed that I like, I will then borrow/buy a radar gun and verify the speed.

I will also try to get all the runs on video and/or get pictures of the speeds etc.

The car is ready to run now. I'm going to go test it out at a local track and possibly race it Saturday, if they let me.

Atleast we have started out on the right foot this time..... ....I have one question and a comment. Is the motor only being held into the car via the wire tie , or is it mounted to a motor mount ? And you do realize with the only form of hold down for the batts being velcro if you hit so much as a fly turd on the road at a good rate of speed this thing will look like evil keneval missing the landing ramp...... Let the video roll on every run..... if it wipes out i wanna see it !!!!!! Good luck this time.

About the motor, the zip tie is just there in case something happens, it will at least keep it from falling of. I made a reverse motor mount (reverse screw pattern), so I could put the motor behind the rear dive shaft. I do have some spare carbon fiber, I may be able to make a battery hold down plate thing, I'll see though.

The car is ready to go again after stripping 2 spur gears and finally installing a mini-t spur.
