I strongly recommand a car that your hobby shop carries a lot of parts for it.Also it'll be good if you get a common car that everyone racing ar your club.At least you can get some tips on setup and stuff from them.

The above cars that you mention are all good cars by the way...

as Ben C pointed out support fron your LHS is a must, if they have the parts in stock it is alot easier than ordering from interstate or internationally.

personal preference goes the way of the shaft driven cars but that is just my opinion.
if people at your club are racing the chassis you will get support from them in helping you extract the max handling with the least amount of effort

yes, unless your willing to make an investment in spare parts go with what your lhs carries, i run tamiya and no one else except one other has a tamiya, so it was necasary for me to spend a couple of bux to keep my box filled for sunday. its not that big a deal though, if you break on sunday with the internet you could have parts by wednsday.

x-ray , losi....if youdont have ANY factory drivers at your local track you will be lost with BOTH of these cars....one person is greg hodapp, nobody in cali runs on a factory level with x-ray so even he is on his own...this is a big problem for support from other racers there arent any...losi no comment...losi is a OFF ROAD company .....losi has put the begginner car way above most peoples heads...this car is tuff to get right on a day to day basis....

Xray. I sold mine and am regretting it. Not to bash on the TC4 or anything, but its not my cup of tea. I would definatly pick up the T1R over the TC4.

since it appears as though you only have a very limited experience with setting a car up properly, from your original post with you racing your mini, the Xray would be beyond your setup skills, PRO4 is nice, but you might want to consider a TRF415 or EVO4, both very strong cars and unlikely to break parts without a massive shunt

If your shop carries Shumacher I would grab an Mi2. The car is easy to drive, easy to build, doesnt need a lot of hop-ups and is on par performance wise with anything on the market. You can pick a used one up pretty cheap as they aren't the latest eye candy of the week. Paul Wynn's Nats setup works on almost any asphalt track. Only thing the car needs is steel CVD's in the front and a P-Dub bumper and your set.
