Default Tamiya Type A Tires

My track will start racing 17.5 touring on an outdoor asphalt track. The track will only allow Tamiya Type A tires. What tire inserts , wheels, and what traction additive works the best. And No we cant use tire warms... fml.

Besides the Type A's, what's a solid outdoor tire for practice?

Cheers.

That's a cold weather tire. Anything over 70 degrees air temperature and a sunny day will probably blister it in a single run.

I like the Tamiya wheels, and the Sweep pink inserts, and am partial to FX-2 if it's dusty or LG if not. If "Kingston" is in Jamaica I'd probably try WD-40 too. It might help the tire last longer.

Thanks for the information, much appreciated. I'm actually situated in Japan, temperatures are hovering around 3-10 degrees Celsius.

If you can get Yokomo inserts, I'd be inclined to run with ZR-037M. They are impossible to source stateside, so we make do with Sweeps.

The Tamiya green medium insert is always safe, but it may not be the fastest option.
