Default CRC Altered Ego set-ups

I haven't seen a thread dedicated to the CRC Altered Ego chassis, so I decided to start one

I just ran one at NORCAR's 3rd annual Hangover classic in 17.5 and loved it!

Here's a pic of what I ran:

If you have any questions or set ups feel free to post them here!

Wayne,
if you don't mind........what front springs, side springs, tube lube and tires did you decide upon for the hangover classic?

I started the tires at 1.595" front and 1.665" rears.
The layout was rough on gray tires..lol...

I didn't have 25K

I had 20K in to start, tried 30K, was too much.

I've been working on my XTiAE lately. Its always nice to see other set ups for comparisons sake. I usually end up running between 20 and 30k as well in the tubes.

I get a little lost once in a while with all of the "nameless" possible configurations with the current CRC lineup. For clarity, you are running the AE rear pod and main chassis, but simply chose to use the standard Xti cross brace / battery locator, correct? I assume you are using double sided tape under the battery to locate it then, right? I found double sided duct tape that holds really well, and still releases cleanly when needed. Its no thicker than regular duct tape either so the battery stays low.

Do I see a modified hole in your castor block for the use of a stiffening bar? I did the same thing as sometimes the CF top brace tweaks my front end...

Peace and 12th's!

I do have the Altered Ego main chassis and top and bottom pod plates.
I didn't have the XTi transverse cross brace, but the XTi inline cross brace dropped in and held the battery where I wanted it (forward). I did just get it the XTi transverse cross brace to install to give me the option of moving the battery back.

You are correct, I just use servo tape to hold the battery
Not the best thing to do, but it works

The castor blocks were some very old ones, so the hole was in them.
I think CRC had them like that for the one aluminum brace with o-rings they used to make that went between them.
