I've downloaded the app, but I'm running into a problem. As soon as I connect the hotwire, the app launches and I get a popup box stating "Android 4.2/4.3 has disabled the Hotwire". I get the option to select demo or OK but no option to enable the Hotwire. It will only go into demo mode and will not access my ESC.

I'm using the app on a Dell Venue 8 that's running stock Android 4.2.2. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem?

Requirements:
-Android OS 3.1 to 4.1.2*
-Tekin HotWire (TT1450)
-Tekin Gen2 Speed Control (Rx8 Gen2, RS Gen2, RS Spec, RSX)
-USB OTG Cable (varies with device)
-HotWire App runs in Demo Mode without HotWire device

*Android OS 4.2+ has a known issue with USB connectivity. Future Android OS updates are rumored to correct this issue.

Does this only work for the gen2 stuff?

Well that's a big pile of crap on a cracker! So much for my hopes of not dragging my laptop to the track.

The issue is the 4.2.2 AOS. As of 4.2 there's some missing "structure" for OTG cable support. Rumor is Android has a fix in 4.4. We're not the only developer fighting this issue. Stay tuned for more info when we have it.

You may have the option to roll back your device to 4.1 if you chose to. I realize it's not "the" best option but it's an option none the less.

What device is it?

Its a Dell Venue 8. It come from the factory with 4.2.2, so I'm not sure if I can roll it back. Dell is supposed to release a 4.4 update in the near future. Hopefully that will fix the USB issue.

Will there ever be support for first gen RS/RS Pro? Since the Hotwire hardware itself works for both, it's strange that there is no support for the older ESCs.

iOS isn't going to happen unless Apple opens up the USB host controller portion of the system. We are pretty much locked out.
