The perfect touring car
Each car has one thing or another that seperate them from the pack.
1. Drivetrain the winner is X-ray, why? silky smooth, sealed diffs and the mulit-diff put it over the top. Second goes to HPI Pro 4, third is the TRF415ms
2. Wrenching the winner is Yokomo's new belt car, why diff access. Second is a tie between the Pro4 and the TC4 because their set-up the sameway, third is the Losi.
3. Tuning the winner is the yet to be release TC4, why? You don't have to buy a thin or thick chassis to goes from carpet to pavement, that just by itself alone makes it the clear cut winner. Second goes to X-ray, third goes to the RDX.
4. Wear and tear the winner is the new Losi, why? Alinement pins keeps it from tweaking and those LCD joints would love a spool. Second is the RDX, third is the X-ray
5. Suspension the winner the TRF415ms, why? Very fine tuning a-arm and the worlds best shocks in the business. Second is the X-ray, third is the RDX.
6. Parts and fit the winner is the RDX, why? No slop at all, no grinding the battery slots. Second is the X-ray, third is the Losi.
7. Steering mechanism the winner is the X-ray, why? Least amount of moving parts=less slop. Second is the Losi, third is the TC4.

I have both the Pro4 and the X-ray. My Xray is nowhere near as free as my Pro4.
It doesnt matter how free and smooth I get my Xrays bearings and diffs to spin, the belt friction (as slight as it may be) gives way to my Pro4 drive train. Without pinion, the Pro 4 spins for days

i agree about the pro4...it's I just don't realize HOW free the pro4 really is to other cars because i haven't held that many other tourers these days

Free spinning drivetrain doesn't really mean it's better...What's important is what happens under load

Tc4 for wrenching? I could have my whole xray apart before you could get one diff our of a tc4.
And Losi for Wear and Tear? Losi parts wear out faster than anything I have owned.
And you give the tuning to a car thats not out yet and not tested by anyone that I know on Carpet with foams.
I thin you got it wrong.

It's all an opinion. Here are mine from what I know and or have observed.
1. Drivetrain-Pro 4. Super free, and easy to make it that way.
2. Wrenching-winner is the Yokomo BD or the Yokomo LCG. Only a few screws gets the diffs out.
3. Tuning-winner is the RDX. Second is the Xray
4. Wear and tear-winner is the Xray. Still haven't seen a broken FK05. Second is the Pro4
5. Suspension-Tamiya of course.
6. Parts and fit the winner is the RDX, why? No slop at all, no grinding the battery slots. Second is the BD/LCG. Third is the Xray or Tamiya
7. Steering mechanism the winner is a tie betweent the LCG and the Pro4. Very simple and slop free.

And they TEAR more than any car I know of. The JRX-S makes the Yokomo look like a bullet proof tank.

I'm impressed with my Pro 4 parts quality and the fact that HPI designed every part with TLC. It's close to perfect if you ask me.
My TC4's a good car. I like the drivetrain rip. It may be the gear diff material???
Whomever takes the best of each design aspect and throws it all into one chassis, will have the "Perfect car."

How free are your's and other a-main regulars trannys? I've seen pro4's with 30 seconds of freespin, and I only have like 5 seconds with my Yokomo. How important is having a super free drivetrain in big stock races? Will I lower my laptimes if I have a car with super smooth ceramics that can spin for ages over a normal, non-binding tranny that can spin for 3-10 seconds? I'm just wondering how much of a difference it makes since the cogging effect of the motors slows us down more than the friction in the tranny.
thanks for your help
