Default 17.5 motor of the week?!

So it's been a while since we've discussed the 'best' 17.5 blinky motor. I'm currently in the market for one and I'm pretty open on what to look at. I run at a medium sized technical carpet track. My previous motors have been a revtech with high torque and one of those Turnigy Trackstar motors both geared between 3.8-3.96.

Motors I'm looking at...

Orca 17.5
Speedzone 17.5
Killshot torque/torque
Team power plutonium

Feel free to recommend other motors too!

If track rules allow it... It is hard to be the technically illegal d3.5 but this motor becomes a roarvevent paper weight around April.

I'd vote team powers or orca.. You'll be happy with either or..

Team Wave eclipse seems to be the hot choice for us British racers at the moment, with the correct gearing and timing its pretty stonkingly quick

Yeah, track rules will allow any motor, really. I was using the Turnigy Trackstar motors, which aren't ROAR approved, but nobody really cared.

I've never run in a ROAR event before anyway.

At Mikes? Just get a D3.5 and you won't have to worry about whether or not you are getting out-motored.

If you want to go against the grain, Id get an ORCA or a Killshot.

The LRP X20 is a decent motor.

What makes the D3.5 so much better than the others?

Talking

I need more practice with the Novak, and it seems to love high gearing(3.4fdr to 3.6fdr), but it's not lacking anything down the straight.... High laptimes is all my fault....lol...

Thicker wire, so less resistance. Not exactly legal or at least not very ethical to use, but that doesn't seem to matter to most.
