I am going over a slew of Speedzone motors right now. Feel free to come over and take a look at the motors in my cars. I have several 17.5's.

I can hold my hands on my novak motors indefinitely after heats and mains at 3.75fdr and 3.65fdr and 30° timing..... The only time I get heat is if I crank the timing up past 40+°....... I can't wait to test 3.4375fdr though: it will be too fast, and will be called out for cheating...lol.....

What's the difference in the x12 and the x20 when I try looking at spec sheets my eyes glaze over

In mod I run the Tp4200 40C lipos with my 3.5t Car and pull them down the straight easily too. I don't run boost though... So my conclusion is that all the batteries that are at or above the Tp4300-2spr65d level will not differ much in performance, stock or mod........ I am sure others will disagree, but that's my opinion: save your money !!!

Tekin seems to be coming out with stuff every 5 years or so, with incremental improvements. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Honestly....after being through this roller coaster ride last year right before the indoor nats....I would get the d3.5. Second to a revtec (if you can still find a good one) and/or a Team Powers.
My d3.5 has been beat to hell and keeps on ticking. This is the 1st motor that I could put the screws to (overheat....overgear...overtime) and it just won't let the magic smoke out. I am not going to offer my opinion on the rules debacle with the d3.5 (my friends know where I stand there)...but if I had to pick one for the indoor season it would be a 3.5.

Last year when the poop hit the fan...most of us went back to the revtec..and it was just about identical in lap times. The issue for some was it could be a hand grenade. I had one let go with no overheat or early warning. That being said...I have two left from last year and just gave one to a bud as it still seems to have some good speed in it.

Having tested the Team Powers...It's an awesome motor. The slight issue with me.. is that I use too much brake when I drive. I am very point and shoot and tend to "offroad" the throttle. While this may not be the best way around the track...it works for me. (sort of ) but heats the motor quickly. The Powers motor is a monster out of the hole....but tends to fade in my car once hot.I truly feel..this is due to the way I drive.I can drive the d3.5 "my style" and don't see much of a decrease in lap times.

Once the rules change....um back.I will probably either burn out my last revtec or go back to the Team Powers and figure out how to cool it better. This is a rule that I wish would be updated..(allow us more cooling options). It's cheap and will save us money in the long run....

I have one of the Plutonium's I won in the EOS raffle last month. It was as fast as my ORCA in my opinion. I do think the ORCA is a bit smoother. I have the Plutonium up for sale, give me a shout if you're interested.

Ray made mention on Saturday of some ORCA equipment coming in this week or next.

The new Team Powers Plutonium is not Roar legal yet.

ReflexRacing usually carries it though.

Express Motorsports kick butt around here for TC and 1/12 scale. Very strong motors.

I recommend them and John Tag will treat you right.
