How's the kit setup on these? My wife wants one of these badly and I really won't have a ton of time to run it and get a decent setup for her.

Running on asphalt and the kit setup is great in my opinion. ...have played with various oil weights, shock springs and tires. It's pretty dialed in, but tuning is never complete ...maybe it's just me, I am always making tweaks.

I love this kit though, the quality is superb ...really, it's very nice.

by the way, you are extremely lucky to have a wife who is into RC'ing! You hit the jackpot!

Haha, thanks Eric. Jackpot may not be the best term for it lol. Jackpot would insinuate that I'm receiving a benefit of some kind...unless of course you consider huge broken parts orders a windfall of sorts...

How's the durability on these things? Not a lot of info on these out there. I think the Tamiya's kind of held this thing down. But honestly in my opinion, after upgrading a tamiya mini to the point where it's competitive will put you in the same ballpark from a cost perspective.

I also race M chassis, but only the M06. FWD is against my religion

It's very durable. Great quality kit. You can't really compare it to an m chassis because this is a shrunken TC. It can hold its own against a 1:10 TC.

My present set up fr asphalt is as follows:

Shocks: 40wt F&R with Ride Red matched TC springs.
Rear Diff: 1000 cst
front spool
Camber -2 All 4 corners (plan on reducing to -1 for next race)

Tyres: pit Shimizu inner mesh racing slicks, with sweep pink insert. I run either 40 or 36 shore depending on needs.

Traction compound SXT 2.0 or Protek true grip (red bottle)

Car is a blast to drive

Perfect, thanks a ton.

What's everyone's preference on where they order their parts from? TQRC looks like they have a bunch but most are out of stock.

Very nice, thank you.

One more annoying question, any recommended upgrades out of the box?

Kit is very complete, comes with universals etc. The only thing I purchased was spool. Would be awesome if they had double cardan joints.

What body do you plan on running?

The wife will be running it and if she doesn't have a mini cooper body she might just cut me in my sleep.

When I run it I will probably be trying the Blitz GTI mini body. Not sure how all of these fit. It'll be a learning curve I'm sure. If I do run it, it will likely be on asphalt.

I like the way you wife thinks! My first run was with the Fiat Abarth 1000 body.. The one with the mock plastic motor hanging out the back.

I have the Subaru BRZ body, but it makes it too TC, not a true Mini.

Last race I ran the BMW 2002 by HPI and the car drew lots of attention

+1

just ran my Top Sabre yesterday right after my 1:10 TC ...it's not too different going from one to the other, they do perform similarly.
