Nice failsafe you got going there!

I just tried it with my full sized round lipo. You're right, the balance is much better.
Guess I will use these lipos for the time being.

Gave my Sabre4WD Mini proper new attire.

I think this completes this project for now. Car is dialed, so easy to drive fast. I love it.

What did you end up using for body posts to make it fit?

For the front I used the factory body post but pushed it back about 7mm or so, drilled a hole on the bottom where the pin is so that there are 2 screws per post preventing it from turning.

For the rear, I used the Tamiya TA05 M-Four rear body post:
B Parts - Bumper Item# 51488 (will need 2 of these).
Drilled two holes through the chassis so that there are 2 screws per body post.

I had a long straight body post, but it was too short even with an extender, so decided to go with the #51488.
I am using the same approach on my SabreFD Mini too.

Over the weekend I installed a Thunderpower 17.5T on my Sabre4WD Mini. Perfect power and speed range for me, and runs SUPER smooth with my kit Tamiya ESC (TBLE-02S). Very happy with the results.

17.5 use to be what we ran the minis in Norcal hobbies. It has been switched to 21.5. Still fast but 17.5 was perfect.

Anyone has a 4wd for sale? Looking for used so I can afford it.

Yeah, especially with the 4wd mini's stability, 17.5 is no issue.

Got a couple of these rectangular lipo's last week. Much better left/right balance. Thanks again to Raman.

Thanks for the info, Raman. TQRC are "sold out", so I'll see what happens at TOP.

Somehow I thought Apex was the TOP rep. but I had problems, and no replies after two e-mails.

Apex is top but the site seems to not function correctly. Try calling the number listed on the site in contact section, and you should be able to reach top

OK thanks. Gearing suggestions for 21.5? Looks like it comes with an 84 spur.
