Default Steering but no motor response

Hi Guys, my first post and the switch on the car was faulty so i had bought a switch and soldered to what i believe is the power Transformer? Well now the steering works fine but the motor is not responding. The wires are very thin and I used the wire cutter/stripper and was thinking that maybe it took too much off the actual wiring and thus there is not enough power to get to the motor. It was working before the issue with the faulty wiring with the switch. Any suggestions as I want to know if it is worth disconnecting and stripping the wire to solder again. TIA

Knowing the brand and model of the items will help us help you. Show us a pic and someone can prob tell by seeing the wiring.

The "power transformer" is the ESC or "speedo" (Electronic Speed Controller)

If the wires are connected it should work. The gauge of the wire will only matter if you are overloading the wire and getting it hot. Were just trying to get it working right now.

How did it fail? all at once? Wouldnt turn on? Overheated? Need more info

Stuff to check:
- Gearbox locked up?
- Motor locked up? (Does the motor make any sound at all?)
- Is the receiver plug from the ESC plugged into the correct slot on the receiver? (Steering #1, Throttle #2)
- Is it plugged in the correct way. (Signal wire (White). + (red) and - (Black))
- Is the motor a Brushed or Brushless? (How many wires on it? 2 or 3?)

Lets gets some more info and we'll try to get ya going.
