one more stupid question from this noob... whats a good fan to run? right now i have my LRP Flow ESC fan rigged up behind it (i used an old spare b4.2 servo mount). Will that fan be enough or do i need something better?
Well now you have spares.

Fan, the LRP fan will be better than nothing but not the best you can do.
I guess it just depends on how hot it is where you run and how aggressive you are with your motor settings. I use the Superior Hobbies fan, it's expensive, but the best fan I've seen. I accidentally stuck my finger in it, broke my nail and cut the skin, so it's tough.

Default LRP Cooling Fan for the TC6.2

I just purchased the LRP 1/10 Scale Radical Cooling Set for my touring car.

I run 17.5 tekin redline motor.

My fan doesn't really fit, I was wondering if this is a common occurrence in alot of touring cars with this product. My solution was to take the side rails off and double side tape the fan to the chassis.

If I run my old LRP motor (the solder tabs point up instead of angling inward as the redline does) then the thing fits. I want my redline motor since I think it is a better motor.

anyway my question is; do I really need a fan in 17.5? is it just as well to stick with a heatsink and no fan? If a fan is desirable, can I get away with my aforementioned setup? If not, should I get the Associated fan; mind you it doesn't come with a heat sink; but I have one of those anyway. Some setups have a fan and no heatsink.

I really don't want to spend more money on an option I don't need in the first place so I am curious for some input on my fan problem here.

A fan in 17.5t makes sense! I am personally no heatsink fan, as I don't see any advantage. Use the fan without heatsink. If you have the L-shaped part from the motormount as spare then you can use it as fanmount. This will hold up better than the tape

If anyone is looking for a slightly-used 6.2 (2 racedays on carpet), look me up. I will list everything pretty soon, just giving ya a heads-up. A pic of the car is in post #533, if you need to see it
