Do you mean the spur gear? If so, those are pretty much universal.

The purple leads me to thinking a HPI, but that's a far stretch...

I had the same thought. Judging from the phillips hardware its a pretty old kit as well.
Edit: after further digging it looks similar to a tamiya tt-01d but I'm betting its an older variant. Looks like its missing the upper brace. Doesn't quite line up though with the front steering brace....

Definitely no HPI and no Tamiya. It looks like a generic car and not made by any of the major manufacturers.

Looks like the old Trinity T-Spec

This is good advice... There's a good chance this is a clone of a popular electric chassis, and several name-brand parts might be compatible with what you've got... The spur gear (if that's the part that failed) would probably be pretty easy to replace since most spurs fit most cars.

Its an associated tc3 ready to run with hardware changes and other parts. Chassis is Def a tc3 I think. Looks like my old ntc3

On a side not that things seriously needs cleaned

Hahahah, its not a TC3, but I don't know if you are being sarcastic.
Since everyone is throwing out whatever, the shaft drive car is actually an old Awesomatix A600. One of Oleg's earlier and rare prototypes.
