Chuck's gearing is 38/96 (stock Xray spur), not 98.

I'd be curious to know what tires the guys were running at the Southern Nationals last weekend.

At the Southern Nationals last weekend?

That's what I ran but I didn't have the sort of traction that the top 3 or 4 cars had off the corners.

I ran my usual setup on my X1 at The Southern Nats last weekend. TCS tires front and rear. SXT full rear and about three fourths on the front. I never cleaned the tires either. I also ran a 25.5 motor and qualified third.

Thanks, Chuck. I was running an F104V2 on TCS tires, with a NOVAK 21.5 motor set at 90% EPA and about -40% expo (Futaba). I guess the X1 just has better forward bite! I qualified 9th and ran as high as 5th in the race until fading to 7th.

This is my first year racing F1's so I'm still learning setup and driving.

I run a Just Stock speeder and a Savox #1251 low profile servo. 25.5 motor geared 38/96. Really looking forward to running F1 at The Halloween Classic at The Gate this weekend.

I also like the Just stock speedo, priced right.
Savox / Spektrum same servo, Savox is gold to match tho ;-)

Maybe take a look at the Sweep Medium Front - Super Soft Rear combination.

I tested these back-to-back with the Shimizu 571 - 572 combo and got similar results on our low-med grip carpet. Our track is larger than most US carpet tracks, so I didn't notice a push like you might have.

I just ordered the aluminum chassis and pod. Mad at my wife for spending huge money on stupid crap, so what the hell.

Now I need to know what Xray means by "in specific conditions."
