Hudy is making a dedicated F1 setup station.

Doesn't Hudy already have a setup station for 1/10 pan cars? Wouldn't it be the same thing or am i missing something?

Axle size is different from a 1/10th pan to a F1

F1 front axles are 5mm where TCs are 4mm. Pan cars can be 3/16 or 1/4 (I believe). Not sure about metric pan cars.

Okay guys need some setup help.

I'm running the X1 on medium grip asphalt with kit setup and Ride R1's all round.

I'm finding that the car understeer's quite a fair bit into and through the corners. There just doesn't seem to be enough front end grip. Now I have tried Pit 571 and 573 but then the car has way too much steering and oversteers almost to the point that the back end wants to let go every corner, so I am on edge trying to catch the back end. I have setup the car with quite a fair bit of drag brake to get the car to turn in better but I know this is slowing me down.

Can anyone offer any setup advice that would help? I'd prefer to stick with the Ride R1's all round.

Thanks.

I wonder if they would release the wheel adaptor separately so those with a 1/10 setup could use that. Or does someone already make them?

Bee,
I would start by using the 571/572 combo and decrease the drag brake by 1/2. If that makes it better, maybe cut the remaining 1/2 by 1/2. Also, you might look to decrease droop in the rear if it's an off-power oversteer.

Hi Bee,
you may try softer front springs - I use Tamiya soft with the Ride tires. Then change the battery position to front-aft orientation to have a little more weight on the front and move the ackerman to the front holes. I have also mover the spacer under the front of the shock to the back so I have 0 spacers under the front and 6 mm under the back. It still plows but is better than before. Also you can try to sauce the front tires a bit longer than the rear. All in all the Ride fronts are not that great.

The adapter is just a tube with 5mm ID and 10-12mm OD. Anyone with a small turn can make this for you for few bucks or even for free..

Or use a couple of bearings.
Haven't tried on the X1 yet, but my touring car setup station works on my TLR 22.2 that way.

Thank you all for your advice I will try it out this weekend.

I see Xray have released softer front springs.

Does the Tamiya front springs work on the X1? Are they the same dimensions?

I am wandering if the setup station is really necessary to set the X1. The only adjustment which is not set by changing inserts is the Toe.
I consider the fact that X1 does not need setup station for one of the Luxury features of the car.

@bee200sx: Yes, Tamiya springs are direct fit.
