Thank you pat5b. The body is a PF Thirteen with Tamiya MP4-24 decals.

The front wing is also from Tamiya MP4-24 body set.

Are many people running a 17.5 in their X1?
no one races this class where i live so i just want to have fun practicing at the track.
seems like thats a quick motor for an F1?
should i stick with 21.5?

I don't know what possessed me to drop a 4.5 mod motor in mine but even after turning the throttle settings way down to 25%, the car is fast as heck. Think Imma take the 4.0 out and drop a 21.5 in.

the 21.5 is plenty fast. Fast as a mod touring car on the straight. The limiting factor is tires,so the 21.5 is just aggressive enough on 2s to be at the limit of grip.

I just picked up my X1 and I am going to start pushing some guys at my track to run this class as well.

I found this site on google:
http://uf1rc.com/rules-and-regulations/

Are these the standard rules for this class?

Also, even though it mentions the tire type, I'm still not sure which tires and wheels I will need for this car. Can anyone help me?

Thanks.

Any tires said to be Tamiya f104 compatible fit. I find, in order to avoid overspecification and allow anyone with any equipment to participate, the best solution is to have regulated rubber tires - common regulated tires (but not the best) are Ride R1. I would say no other regulations are necessary - this is the cheapest and most convenient way to limit expenses. Once tires are given, the setup and driving skills become most important - no point to regulate motors etc.

We mostly run the Tamiya TCS branded tires, they are the same as the common Pit's that most run and work very well. The Rides I have heard good things about as well. Best thing to do is to find out if any tracks around you that run them have a spec tire and try to use theirs, if it works at your place. If not, try a couple different brands and pick what works and make that the spec tire. Also, I would spec a tire additive. Keeps people from coming up with their own "treatments", lol.

In what strange dimension is a 21.5T F1 as fast on a straight as a mod touring car?

What am I missing?
