Default Getting out of R/C....Time,Money or ?

Seems like there are more ads appearing in the For Sale section stating 'getting out of R/C". Let's not kid ourselves...this is an exspensive hobby whether you race or not. The cost of kits and batteries in electric and the cost of engines in nitro class......are these the reasons people are getting out or are you losing interest. Myself....even though I am not quitting racing the time as well as my job has reduced my racing to once a month.....and then I have to drive about 160 miles to race. There must be more die racers out there like me. Just curious.

I have been in this hobby since I was 10 and 23 years after the best I can do was quit temporarily. It is an expensive hobby but it is a great hobby. There is always ways to cut the expense and that is being content, so stop reading those magazines because all they do is make you buy more rc stuff. Haahaha... joke... I love rc mags specially when I get it for free. I'm sleepy.

I think the ONLY real reason anyone gets out of the hobby is because they are NOT having fun. Remember, that is the whole point of what we all do- it can be in the driveway, or at the local track or be jet setting around the world (like my buddy Barry) to do it-as long as you enjoy yourself...we all MAKE the time, find the money, etc.

From WEBSTER DICTIONARY:

Main Entry: hobby
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural hobbies
: a pursuit outside one's regular occupation engaged in especially for relaxation

If you are not having fun anymore, then it is really time to take a break.
