Questions?? 1/8th esc with 1/10th motor

Hello
Nitro guy here picking components for 1/10 touring car,
was wondering if buying a 1/8th esc and using 1/10th motor would cause any problem/drawbacks in 1/10 touring car.

Reason for asking if i'll like to future proof the esc in terms of if i switch to 1/8th off road later.

Thanks

It's really a size issue and fitting it in the TC nicely more than anything. But, also some 1/8 esc's don't offer boost or blinky mode because they are generally not requirements for the 1/8 classes. However most TC classes are either boosted or blinky which could cause issues for you.
