Questions?? Protoform Mazda6 GX Handling?

Anyone know where the soon to be released PF Mazda 6GX is supposed to fit in in their product line with regard to it's handling?

I read somewhere that it's in-between the spd6 and LTC-R. I've read that sort of thing before though so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

No one knows yet. The picture posted up on RED RC today is the actual first step of the mold and no bodies have been made at all. Dale expects it to be more aggressive than the LTC-R and probably be used for Asphalt but until its tested no one knows.

It would be nice to see an updated Mazda that handles neutral like the current one, and not as aggressive as the p37 or the ltcr. Either way, I'm sure I'll have one painted up in my scheme along with a backup standard Mazda 6.

Yeah, I wouldn't want it to be more aggressive than the LTC-R. Maybe I misheard him(that is entirely possible), but I'm pretty sure Eric mentioned to me a couple of weekends ago that it was intended to be somewhere between the speed6 and LTC-R. Of course, no one has run it yet. We'll all find out soon how it handles.

Dale said pretty outright that especially with 2014 worlds coming up on asphalt, this body is expected to be more aggressive than the LTC-R. We'll see though, who knows what the production version will actually be like.

MORE aggressive... wow.

We need something on carpet between the Speed6 and the LTC-R. The P37 really isn't it.

More aggressive than the LTC-R? Wait, isn't that hat already worn by the R9-R?

LloydLoar, I think you already see the pile atop my pit to know that I'm deep into a quest to find the body that rests between the Mazdaspeed6 and the LTC-R. I really hoped that the Mazda6 GX was going to be that creature.

I have a Montech Nazda 3.0 for just such a requirement

Skiddins

P.S. The Nazda 4 is the most aggressive body I've run, I've had to stick the wing so far out the back just to stop it spinning instantly on asphalt.

I Run the p37 on our Wednesday club races that are a shorter more technical track. Sundays on the bigger track I rock the Mazda. Haven't tried the ltcr yet, but not sure I really need more aero grip at the sacrifice of speed/laptimes, especially when I can dial more mechanical grip in my xray.

Not a lot of love for the P37 here... I personally love that body. Although I do always have all 3 bodies with me on race day just in case. I use the P37 95% of the time on carpet no matter what the traction is, and only switch to the Mazda 6 when I need something less agressive. The LTC only comes out on very rare occasions, but the P37 usually does the trick. Very underrated body in my opinion. Can't wait to see what the new GX brings!

Hey Dave,

This was the original intent, but the more the body developed, it sort of took on a 'life of its own' and the end result has a body that we think will be more for the outdoor asphalt crowd as EA said. But again we will wait to hear feedback from our team of drivers.

Whichever slot it fits into, be assured that we plan on doing an "opposite" body in the coming months as well. (ie. if we find the new GX is dynamite outdoors, we will aim the next body at carpet, or vice versa).
