Which 1s esc for 12
I'm sure there will be opinions, and sorry if this is a repeat. I purchased a new CRC XTI, and I want to run a 1s esc that doesn't require a booster or receiver pack. The footprint on the chassis is small so I would like the setup to be neat as well as functional.
Please if you do have suggestions add your why's ie adjust-ability, durability, fitment, etc...
Thank you in advance for your help.
P.S. Mostly I'll run 17.5 blinky but I want options.

the 1cell specific hobbywing is also a great choice. They are admittedly a little big, but they are very inexpensive compared to most and they work at least as well if not better. Also, the 1cell version hobbywing does not require the use of a booster or receiver pack. So, considering those un-needed components, the size of the speedo is not so bad. On the CRC site, you'll find photos of team cars with hobbywing speedos fitted. As a side bar......when I removed my tekin and replaced it with a hobbywing, the car drove dramatically better. For sure the hobbywing's throttle application is way smoother and I really like that the neutral band and the motor brake effect are much more consistent.

I believe the smallest are the Viper and the LRP. The Viper is the same size as my Tekin RS but is smoother and has a built in booster. The LRP is slightly bigger but lighter than the Viper.

Hobbywing 1s is your esc IMO

I have a couple of Speed Passion 2.1EX (no longer available), a Hobbywing 1s and the Viper. I'm very happy with all of them and would say any will serve you well. The Viper costs a bit more but is smaller so it depends on what your needs are. You are running an XTi so all will fit.

Mark I like the Orion 1s, its smaller than the Hobbywing but it is more pricey. I don't think it performs any better but it is easier to fit everything on the chassis. Most of the local guys are running the Hobbywing in their Xti, me being the oddball running the Orion. Bub really likes his Viper... you can't really go wrong with any of them since they are all made in the same place. I think most locals ditched the LRP SXX after they had issues with the BEC failing and taking a long time to get them fixed.

I am loving the Viper VTX1, small footprint, easy install/setup and bloody quick!

I am running them with a TP 13.5 on 1S with a new Novak Booster.
