I have to apologize for our fearless leader Burt. He's always on Hawaiian time!
Sorry Burt. Couldn't help myself...

We had the third GT and F1 National in the UK yesterday. And we were luck enough to have a huge and well laid carpet to race on at the SWIFTS club in Yorkshire.
Grip was lower for practice and the first round, but with competitive fields in all classes it quickly improved. My WTF1 ran well all day, and I had time to try some tweaks picked up at the Snowbirds and from this thread.
I was delighted to qualify in second place in the A-final, and with a trouble free run in the final finish second overall.
That matches my second place at the first UK National. I missed the second as it clashed with the Snowbirds, so all to play for at the final Chesterfield round at the end of April.
Congrats too to Kev Creaser who finished a fine fourth place with his WTF1 yesterday. We also know other kits are being snapped up so looking forward to getting them up and running.

Congrats to Mark and Kev.
Hoping to see you both at the next IIC.

What I'd add is that the 13.5 and 1S rules in the UK have made the cars much easier to drive. And on a big open track like this I was missing the extra punch and fun that 2S and 21.5 gives
Kev is looking at changing his already booked flights for the IIC, so more confident that he will be there.
Fran and I have got flights and a bigger trip already booked up. Which means I may have to miss it if the dates move (which I appreciate is pretty likely now). That would be a shame as I will have WTF1 and a CRC pan car ready to race by then Either way you know we'll have a great holiday!

Thanks Bill - made real progress with the car since the first round

And I intend to be retired by the next IIC; so, I should be able to park my motorhome outside a carpet track and get some good practice time in before the event this year...Unlike this past year's IIC where I totally flopped out...LOL
PM me with your bigger trip plans. I'm interested! 2015 is a year of travel for us.

I'm sorry, but i sold my wtf1. I really wanted to like this car, but i could not make it turn the way i wanted.
I know the problem is on me, because the guy i sold it to is doing amazing lap times!

Unfortunately I think you will find this true of any F1...the problem is the way rubber tires work, or don't work, on a pan car chassis. You'll never get it to turn in anywhere near as good as a pan car on foam tires or even a TC on rubber tires.
