I don't use the 7000, but I do use the Reedy 5500 and it gets very close to the motor. I use an O-ring stretched around the battery stops in the center of the car to help push the battery away from the rotor on the motor.

Sorry to disappoint. It wasn't for a lack of trying, that I can guarantee.

As a member of the freshman class to invite you had a great run. I hope someone got you a video of your near win round. The force of the crowd was with you!

Sorry, that must have come across as a slight on the Xray drivers and I'm sure you were all trying very hard in a very tough field.

Was just hoping the Xray's would pressure 'him' a little more

Hope to be at the Worlds in Oct, so you can come and hand my arse to me

Without Hagberg there, I didn't really expect a super strong showing from XRAY, no offence intended to the other guys on the team, but they just aren't quite at that same level. At least not on a consistent basis. Guys like Volker and Rheinard seem to be on another level from almost everyone else on the planet.

Damn aliens

1 or 2 of each arm (f/r), caster blocks, hub carriers (f/r), driveshaft blades, and one set of body posts... these are really the only things I have ever broken.

+1 Blades, replaced about 4 or 5 in a few months.

Haven't broken a single part in 2-1/2 years. I've replaced blades one time each season. O-rings and bladders incase I want to completely refresh the shocks. One front arm, one rear arm (both are universal side to side). I keep very little for spares.

I have more in springs and shock oils than any parts.

I seem to recall 57mm from end to end measured with verniers (not to the centre of the mounting balls)

No doubt. I came from a Corally and Associated and over-bought on spares with my T4. Since November of 2012 I've broken 1 c-hub. Initial buy in was a bit higher but operating cost of this car is next to nothing.
