So what changes do you guys think will be made to the new car for '15?

I think we'll see new sway bar links, similar to the ARC ones and some changes to the steering linkage again.

What are your wish list items?

Thinking of '15 already!? Maybe a centrally mounted, single sided floating spur gear.

My onroad season just ended. so yeah thinking about what's to come.

Isn't someone making a conversion for something similar already? It would have to be pretty rigid to keep the spur from flexing under acceleration. And what do you think the benefits of that would be? More flex in the chassis?

Default Spur Gears

Hi Guys,

does XRAY make spur gears smaller than 96T/64p?

If not, can anyone recommend an alternative?

thanks
Mark

They make a 92 - XRA305862

Edit -

Also, RW racing makes smaller gears as well as leespeed (I think both down to 80). I currently use RW in my T4 but have recently switched to leespeed on my 12th because they are easier to get for me. The leespeed gears feel fantastic too.

Lee speed spur gears from EA Motorsports are a great substitute for the stock xray spurs.

Hi all,

whats the best way to protect my '14s chassis? I didnt think it would be getting worn so quick but we have concrete kerbs at the track and one major bump that I am certain I touch the bottom on. I was thinking about epoxy along the sides and in patches on the tail perhaps, or is it just better to stump up the $$$ for a new chassis every 6 months or something? cheers

what i do is when im finished cutting a bodyshell i keep the long strips from the sides and cut them so they are 10mm wide,i then cut these to length and shoe goo them to the chassis sides,no more wear for me,when it wears through it can be peeled off and replaced with a fresh bit of lexan, and it costs nothing

I used to run a couple of strips of cell tape along the underside of the chassis near the edges and lately I have bought a T4 chassis protector off ebay, it's basically a thick sticker than covers the whole of the bottom of the chassis.

I also use cell tape along the edge and at the rear. Anything thicker than this just steals too much ride height. Also you need to be able to remove it to detweak the car, so tape is a quick and easy fix.

Go to a automotive dealer that does final prep on cars, like those fancy polish jobs. They also have a product called chip guard or protector. It's usually put on the very front of new vehicles. It's a thicker clear vinyl and the shops usually toss out the smaller pieces which are big enough to do a complete chassis. It's really tough stuff with good adhesive. Any extra pieces use to fix those cracks that start on the body wheel arches.

Buddy of mine bought a sheet of lexan that he just cut to size and taped it on the bottom side of his chassis.

i believe that a strip of lexan is the way to go,i measured the strips i used and they were 0.6mm so the tape is 0.2 mm but only lasts one run before you have to change it,and when it wears through you get chassis damage, the lexan on my car lasts 2/3 meetings and doesnt tweak the chassis and you can see when its time to change it before any chassis damage occurs, when i saw the picture of hagbergs car at the recent low grip ets race his chassis was heading for the bin after one race, the majority of racers cant afford to kill a chassis every meeting
