I've found that the RSD battery holders are awesome if your battery is completely flat at the top. Some batteries (like the SMCs) have the +/- ports slightly recessed and lower than the rest of the battery. It's hard to get that working bc you can only lower the holders so much bc of the L-battery brackets.

There are a few options that you can use to accommodate SMC-style packs: no shimming, just the stanchion. You can also sand down the bottom of the stanchion further until you get to the desired height.

Tip: initially I was hesitant to use battery holders rather than tape because of the uneven flex battery braces are known to cause. (Think of the old school XRAY ones.) The solution is to carefully shim for both the fore and aft as well as torsional flex. You want to make sure when the chassis flexes torsionally it feels similar in both directions. This means the battery holders should not dig into the battery, but rather smoothly hold it in place. Try it for yourself, and you will see what I mean.

I love the RSD battery holders. They even run terrific in modified where chassis flex is critical as a tuning option. The Awesomatix cars also use similar holders to great effect.

Has anyone tried the Roche arm stiffeners? They're 2.0mm vs 1.6mm, but they have more material cut from them, so I'm not sure how they compare in actual stiffness. They're also a bit cheaper than the Xray ones, and in-stock 1 state away from me.

The Roche arms stiffeners are a good addition to this car. I have been trying to get the car to feel more direct on carpet - they did just that. Without a current option for graphite 1 hole arms - the H + the Roche plates were a good addition.

Got mine from EMR Factory.

+1. For this very same reason I have been running the 1.5mm Roche plates. More direct without making the car necessarily 'loose'.

They make 1.5mm plates? EMR Factory only has the 2.0mm plates.

They do. I believe they make 1.0mm, 1.5mm and 2.0mm. Unfortunately, the 1.6mm XRAY plates were not available at the time or else I would be running those.

Top three fastest laps in DHI practice (seeded);

Alexander Hagberg 12.122 - Xray
Adrien Berntsen - 12.135 - Xray (I think?)
Ronald Volker --- 12.138 - Yokomo

Although Volker has still managed the best three consecutive laps in both rounds and of course these times mean nothing.

Will be interesting to see what happens in the main quali's which I believe start shortly.
