I am even trying to fit the body on my old F103GT and their wheel base is way shorter then the LM-1....the only alternative is using the current F104 chassis with the F103 front along with the F103GT rear diff axle and offset the world out of it to 200mm mounting TC rubber tires....

F103 rubber tires will work width wise, but the diameter is smaller compared to a "modern" Lemans size.

No it looks ok...here is a Tamiya body with F103 tires. The Group C cars used a bigger tire as well

Thank you for pointing out what I should have already seen.

The wheelbase is only about 0.4" longer than the WGT max. spec, so just trimming the wheel arches to match sounds like a reasonable approach.

Just put in my order. I just couldn't resist such a nice recreation of my favorite 1:1 racing class.

This will be my first on-road, unless you count tarmac rally with my XV-01 I'll be watching this thread for ideas!

Maybe lowering the body will look better? It seems really high...... Personally I will trim the body so it can sit lower......

I think its more the look of the smaller diameter F1 wheels just isn't right. LeMans and Prototypes need the large diameter wheel/low profile tire to look scale.

If I had a Tamiya f1 and wanted to put on a LeMans or GTP body, I would put on Tamiya's GTP wheels from their C11 (#50399). All you need to put on the rears is the hub adapter that comes on one of the plastic tree parts and the little 3mm blind nuts to hold the screws tight.

From what I have seen the bearings and hexes are the same
