Hey there. I know this is a little off point in this thread, bug does anyone know if the foam tires and wheels for the LM1 are a direct fit onto the old tamiya group C cars?

They should bolt right on. On the rear you'll have to remove the wheel adapter that you mount the GTP wheels to-the SP wheels should bolt directly on the hubs as if you were mounting F1 style wheels. The front should fit as well, although I'm unsure of the bearing size for the front SP wheel.

Default it's picking up...

Santa must have been good to a lot of folks here...

The class is now picking up after the holidays. Should have five or six and at least two more soon!

That is very good news celt! That is what I really have wanted to see with the newness of the LM1 chassis. If we can get 6-8 at 4 or 5 different tracks across the country (which would render 3 or 4 mains if they all were brought together for a "national event"), that can give us a good base and will alleviate concerns of it getting cannibalized by the LMP1 class

I did some thinking as I was reading the LMP1 200mm discussion and it got me to thinking as someone had mentioned the thought of a single brand spec class, so I got to thinking and here is what I came up with for a Speed Passion LMP Challenge class (LMPC):

Chassis: Speed Passion LM1
ESC: Reventon Stock Club Race
Motor: Speed Passion Competition V3.0 21.5R
Battery: 2S
Body: Speed Passion LM-A
Tire: Speed Passion LM Tire
Weight: 1200g
Ride Height: 6mm
Drive Ratio: 72T spur, open pinion

Both the LMP1 and LMPC classes would utilize the same race format so that the transition and learning curve can be fairly brief for those moving up from PC to the more open P1

Just thought I'd toss this in the mix. My first LM1 paint-job. Did it for a friend of mine.

What do you guys think of making a single brand class for the LM1, sponsored bu Speed Passion, which can offer a move up option for those who want to step up to the LMP1 class being discussed in the other thread?

Can one of you guys with an LM1 do me a big favor and give me some measurements of the wheels? I'm looking for wheel diameter, and overall diameter of new tires front and rear. Width front and rear would be welcome too. Thanks in advance!

Can't tell from the camera light angle, but those head lamps look functional?

Stunning...one of the nicest I've seen.

Can you imagine a heat of those running?

Thx for the comments. The headlights are functional. I made them with some scrap wire I had laying around. Plans are to add the 6 3mm lights to it, but I'm still waiting on the bulk order to arrive. The 4 5mm's are very bright standing alone. Personally, I think that they may be too bright vs what the smaller ones may put out. I'll find out for sure once the others are built, and I'll add some pics.

Looks good sir !

Did you wire the led's in series or use a resistor in-line?
