Going up to our nationals next month and the ride dist is doing some deals on f1 ride rubber and has quoted part number 26022(r1 high grip compound?) for front and 26023(r1 high grip compound)? for rear and are these the ones i want ..its a new outdoor asphalt track and should be hot as our summer here so should be good grip,we dont run traction compound...I usually run foams in 200mm so rubbers are a bit foreign to me but you guys seem to be having success with 180 set up and the narrower tyres so might try them if need to.

Yep those are the ones you want, run Shimizu 0573 medium fronts instead of Ride fronts and set the car up for 190mm wide and you cant go wrong...

I am with Dan, i think ill keep my battery all the way back, unless Rob hoses me then ill give it a try


On another note the Qteq clamp hub looks right at home

Cheers Beth..where do you buy your shimizu tyres? and any where you can get the tyres and qteq clamp from together?

also do you think i should run just narrow set up and not worry about the 200 set up?

Banzai hobby appear to still have some gold clamp hubs in stock, as well as the tyres. The Clamp hubs are getting a little hard to come by...

If you are going to run 104 type tyres just set it up for 190, the Ride's will make the rear 190mm anyway.

Thanks for the reply, and information Dan. I think I'll go with the front mounted battery for now as it's been a good setup for me with 3/4 of the F1 cars I have raced, and yes that includes the Serpent F1 car I had for a while - it was a good car on outdoor tracks with the F104 tires.


In my current F1 car (3 Racing F113) I have it towards the front, and it seems to like it there as the handling is fairly neutral, even with Ride R1's on the rear, whilst still being a fast car (if the diff doesn't implode ) on the track.

I see reflex also do qteq..ahh just noticed he out of stock as well and shimizu but he only shows soft fronts so have emailed to see if they can do the medium fronts.

Just found out that my brand new Hobbywing xerun 21.5 turns
will not fit the StreeJam.
The power connector is too big and no mater how you turn it,
it refuses to fit.



Any suggestions for a good 21.5 turns sensored motor with powerconnector at the back?

yep found that out with the speedpassion motors with the connectors

I just solder my Team Powers in now

you couldn't unsolder the connectors and turn them around ?? or is it the circuit board that they are attached to is the issue ??

I have the same issue and I am waiting for a smaller spur, because with a smaller spur, you migth only need to dremmel 1-2mm the carbon fiber

I have installed the servo in laydown position, but I have seen that the steering links hit the upper arm. I have cutters the lower chassis and still hit the arms. Are you using spacer between the servo saver and ballstuds? How many?

You can unsolder the connectors from that piece that is jutting out from the motor, then flip them around to face the pinion end of the motor.
You'll need to get some good heat into your soldering iron to achieve this, and then you might be able to fit the motor in, failing that, my motor of choice for F1 is the Orca 21.5 TX, it has good usable low down torque like a Hobbywing and feels just as smooth.

Soldering is no solution ( already did that )

I will try to tap 2 new m3 thread holes in de motor front plate,
that should help.
Regulations are this motor only at one of the circuits I tend to race.
Hope they don't mind the extra holes!

Yes, I also had in mind to drill two new M3 holes.

It shouldn't be too difficult, but open up the motor and make sure that you don't get any aluminum dust inside of the motor. Hopefully, the regulations doesn't say anything about opening the motor (it shouldn't as all the motors require a minimum maintenance)
