Has anyone use the transverse mount chassis brace for the Associated 12R on your 12L

Reflex makes one http://www.reflexracing.net/RSD-AE-1...it_p_2367.html

Do you think it would work on a 12L

I am building a VBC 12L.

Are the side springs supposed to touch the chassis.

Right now with no battery no electronics the springs don't touch the chassis until I twist the rear pod.

When you mount the battery transverse, dont you cut the battery retaining areas so the battery sits flat on the rear chasis brace?

Yes. I also used a countersunk M3 and nut in front of the battery to prevent it from moving forward. You need to countersink the the area where the screw
is on the battery tape slot so it will sit flush with the bottom of the chassis.

If you modify the chassis brace and cut of the retainers will there be too much weight towards the back of the car?

Will that add to weight transfer and give more steering?

I am going to mount the Lipo transverse just because I like the extra room for RX and ESC, just not sure how far back I want the lipo to sit.

If you want to try a transverse setup, you could use this parts to help the tape to hold the battery on its place.

How did you secure the small rectangle part towards the front? Is it screwed to the chassis?

It holds in its place by pressure, but its better to add a dab of glue to stick it to the chassis.

I received two left retainers. I have contacted Shapeway, including sending
a picture. Shapeway claims there is no problem and to contact the designer.
Just trying to get the correct parts.

I have a Lightning12 on the way. Going to be running it in 13.5 blinky on spec lilac tires. Any suggestions on a setup to start with? My current car is a crc, so I have crc springs to choose from.
