the front ride height shims meant for an AE car will fit the VBC. CRC sells them in a set of 3.

I like the slide in & out kind...although the CRC has finer adjustments.

This car had a problem at one time with the left and right front axles being at different heights from the bottom of the chassis. What is the fix for that?

alllright. just pulled the trigger at aps racing for two of these puppies and some spares.

wasnt really planning to replace my 12th scales this soon but definitely in 2014 for the winter season. still three months of indoor here in victoria.

been oogling the vbc stuff for some time and figured it was a good time to think about upgrading my three year old 12r5 i got on here used. my first 12th scale that has been beaten on and abused by my noobness lol.

i dont hit things as much now so making the upgrade to my first NEW chassis for any class. excited.

I ordered most of the front plastic parts and some springs. does vbc sell a front and center spring kit? i got the side spring kit but are people running ae or crc springs for the most part?

my 12r5.1lipo probably wasnt limiting me as much as my driving lol.. but nice to upgrade to something a little more modern.

Not really a set, but you just need .18 on up, I usually buy a few of each, now I don't know this first hand cause I haven't used the vbc front springs but typically tere all a little different length, so if you get a few you can match up the lengths

I recommend getting the spacers and what not the most, gotta have those tuning options!

are there any pancar springs that are matched like touring car springs? i had that problem when i inherited a wgt chassis that came with a butt ton of random front springs heh. i guess they are cheap enough heh.

They all have variance.. I personally like the Speedmerchant but that's personal.

Gonna use them eventually anyways lol

I guess while im waiting for my kits to arrive, a good question is whether my slapmaster Associated thrust bearing kits will work on this car? or will i have to grab different spacers from brian?

I salvaged my crc ride height spacers and the thrust bearing kits from my ae's before packaging them for sale "they are still for sale together as a set for like $150 fyi"
got a new crc 7000/90c to put in. gonna look evil with my hobbywing 3.1 and reedy mach 2 this car was MADE for this combination ha.
If dave is watching this thread, id LOVE to learn the setup he used on both his cars at speedweekend 2014. he finished second in stock and qualified well in the amain mod, but had an issue in mod that took him out.

still, car was on rails the whole weekend.

another question; if i want the ride height or upper arm shims, do i need to buy two sets of each?

You need the shortest Slapmaster kit #101.

so the 109s will just hand off the cf bit? is there anything wrong with that? i found the thrust bearings difficult to get over the threads on my ASC cars. hope they fit better on the vbc. makes me wonder if the bearing ends were binding on the threads when i was tightening them down preventing the accurate preload.

heh. the more i look at the manual the closer this car seems to my 5.1s I guess i shouldnt expect them to be fundamentally different in their handling. basically the 5.1/2 with some different adjustment cabability.

I received new arms from APS but never fit them on the car. They took over a week by the time they verified with my LHS that i purchased the car from them so i got a set of the associated 12r5.2 lower arms and balls that go in them. That did the trick and it was pretty cheap.
