I may understand the issue of noise regulations in some countries and that the platform may accommodate better the new 4 pole motors (which truthfully, i have tested in different cars but I don't see a huge difference in performance) but, I can't understand the purpose of this hybrid car. Unless you're racing on a huge track (which aren't many in the US) a 190mm touring car is as fast or even faster that a 1/10 200mm car. This is a fact. Why should I race a heavier, more complicated car? Now the other issue, FOAM tires. Having raced nitro for over 14 years for me is a blessing not to spend a whole night truing tires and having to buy at least 3 sets of tires for one race only, it got really expensive! And God forgive you clipped an apex to far inside and chip off the tire! For me is not cost beneficial.

If Serpent really wants to make the category interesting, the should go back and create a 220MM 1/10 electric Lola (like the impact). This is something that, at least for me, will be worth trying. It will be an alternative to 1/8th Nitro On Road class which I personally believe is the ultimate in RC racing but it's way too expensive (at least $1,600 for a race ready chassis without tires )

The car will be really fast, will have great traction (big 1/8th on road foams ) which will make them handle great and will look awesome!.

Hopefully, Serpent is listening.

This type of chassis must run on 3S........otherwise, a FOAM chassis (remember the old 2008 USA foam spec, 4mm carbon chassis with 3mm upper) 190mm with wide 30mm foams running with hot motor and boost will beat this without a doubt....

Imagine the WEIGHT of this 200mm vs the typical 190mm with foam....that is a big different already.

Overall...I think this is just some engineering and marketing testing, I really don't see why this class will take off.....even 1/8th E format is already struggling due to the batteries, motor to use because of its weight...

Electric Lola 220 mm exists, EDAM has one kit. And yes these chassis are made for 3S 11.1V lipos in mind. 2S 7,4V are for 190 mm.

Here you have a EDAM 220 mm, using 2S, imagine with 3S lipos:

This would be a great class. I hope it takes, look 1/8 Ebuggy has taken off with great turn outs at the club and national level.

Don't they already have the pro10 mod class in Europe, which is way faster than 8scale nitro??? Maybe this class should be named 1/10 UNLIMITED.... Everything is allowed....lol... No limits on Tires, bodies, motors, batteries,etc....., just as long as it's a 1/10 scale.... Let physics and gravity determine the limits !!!

If Serpent released this car I'd buy 2. The nitro class is dying in northern California. Running a nitro car requires a pit guy. There is nothing like having an over powered rc car and successfully getting all that power to the ground.

Looks great, 3 of 4 local nitro tracks have converted to electric due to noise great to get use of the nitro cars.
