88x40 has been the norm.

What Ian said above is the best course of action to deal with the hump in the ballroom floor. Ian did a great job of it last year and I think that's going to be the best bet. Regardless, it won't be football field size.

There will very much be a full sub floor. My point is that leveling the floor is a crucial part of the operation. And positioning the track so to minimize the problems with the existing ballroom floor, along with shimming it properly is something that Ian did well last year.

I believe ALL AMB transponders will work. It is the MRT ones that may have an issue.

It was announced at Halloween Classic that the ownership of the hotel has recently changed. THIS WILL NOT EFFECT THE RACE AT ALL!!! But what it will change is how fast you need to book your room. I guess the new owners plan to end the discounted room rate sooner then originally thought. If I remember correct (somebody please chime in if I am wrong), but in order to book a room at the $79/night rate it has to be done in the next 2 weeks. So book your room!

Also, when can this thread be pinned since the race is less then a month away?

Does is affect existing reservations? Is it remaining a Holiday Inn?

No, reservations currently made and made up to the cut off date will be the discounted price as long as you reserved online using the group code, or called in saying you were coming for the race. I am just not sure what the cut off date is. Right now most of the people are traveling home. So hopefully somebody really in the know chimes in later or in the morning.

And it is still at the same hotel.

Adam is very correct on this. Thanks, Adam! And I have already asked Matt M. to sticky the Champs thread, so I'm sure he'll be on top of that deal shortly.

We are hoping to get an extension on the discount period, but I wouldn't push it if you want the $79 per night rate. The Halloween Classic sold out with 100 bodies. The Champs also has a body limit and now we also have a time limit on the hotel rate, so don't delay. Sign up for one class right now, book the hotel and we all can figure the rest out later.

The Midwest Grand Slam group just got done with the Halloween Classic and our hangover period will have to wait. If you want to know how well the Champs will run, just go over to the Classic thread. John Peoples handled 3 rounds of packed house qualifying in one day, just take a peek over there and see how many happy faces are posting about their Classic experience.

If you have questions about the Champs, just holla'!
