2 questions

1st: w/ 23T motor and 2 same skill racers, does it make A LOT of differences between a beginner's car like Tamiya TT-01 and some better car like TRF-415? (speed and how it turns)

2nd: is it worth to buy the best kind of chassises if I am only going to play only 23T? does it make a lot of differences?

thx

not so much in flat out speed, but you will DEFINITELY notice a difference in handling.
if you're just playing, though, a 415 is overkill (considering I think they named it for the price:D)
if you can find a slightly used RS4 Pro 3, or an old RS4 2 etc etc, those are great play cars. more efficient drivetrains and overall just a better car than the TT01, and for a rolling chassis you'll be paying about half what you'd pay for the TT01 new.
Unfortunately, there's not many "play" kits anymore like the old RS4-2, or even the Traxxas 4-tec (all of 'em are RTR, dangit!)

r u gonna "play" or "race? cause racing you could use both, but the tt-01 won't be as competitive, but still very capable. I wouldn't resommend the 415 for any play, it's designed for "racing". And 23t is considered super stock i run 27t stock and it's just as fast.

I am just going to play with 23T or 27T
so whihch kind of chassises are cheap and good?

And then there's always pan cars too:D
I just got a Tamiya F103...it's a blast even with the stock silver can. with a fully charged pack it'll light 'em up at any speed-time to find some foams:P

the T-Spec looks nice, but is it too old and hard to find the parts? I am going to race the car in the parks so the F201 is not what I am looking for.
by the way, what is the differences between the 540 motor and 550 motor?
thz

The T-Spec is a "dumbed down" TC3, and the parts are hard to come by. You're better off buying someone's TC3 or finding a hobby shop that still has the TC3 RTRs.

The numbers indicate the size of the motor. A 550 motor is bigger than a 540, persay. You will also see 380, 400, and 480 size motors. All touring cars use 540 motors that I'm aware of.

You were lookin at a TT01 and you're calling the T-spec old? cmon:P
and around here, ANY tamiya car is just as hard to find parts for as the T-spec.
I think the F201 would be the way to go, or the TC4. don't bother with an RTR, because you'll wind up replacing the motor and speed control anyway. I have yet to see an RTR, other than the Duratrax Evader Pros, that dont have a crappy ESC.

nekmiyevo2 06-19-2005 04:25 PM

I dunno, but I heard there is rtr for tt-01 w/ batteries and charger in hong kong and it costs around 100 something here

and i would like to play the touring car than the F201

T-BirdJunkie 06-19-2005 04:27 PM

ok, where do you live first of all?
find out what's the hot seller at your local hobby shop and what you can easily obtain parts for.

nekmiyevo2 06-19-2005 04:33 PM

and I don't have much money to afford the 23T motors, esc, transmitter, reciever, servo, betteries, etc. those will cost me a lot.

or can you tell me how much are those stuff cost? or correct me
23t motor: $40
esc: around $60
transmitter: $100
reciever: does it come from the transmitter?
servo: does it come from the transmitter too?
betteries: $40? and is there a big difference between match and non-match?
(those costs me over 400 if I buy the TC4) um... I can buy 4 tt-01 rtr(s) right? well, I am just a beginner
thx

T-BirdJunkie 06-19-2005 07:04 PM

OOH you were talking the RTR. I thought you were talking a kit.
