I'm fine at the moment . SpeedMerchant parts support in Japan isn't so hot. I don't think Teru from Xenon is carrying the chassis anymore.

But, I've always had a soft spot for this chassis.

I'll wait until the next model comes out?

Quick question - Will the Rev 8 chassis run a transverse layout? - Yes it will. Answered my own question. Ha!

My Roche inline DOES NOT steer on my local track. My transverse Roche does.

I have only run my SM as transverse and it steers more than either Roche.

I have gone back and forth from inline to transverse and can not find one being better then the other. They both steer, They both drive great, and by far they both have killer corner speed. Green to well grooved you will be fine with both.

That and wiring is much cleaner since you don't have to run motor wires down the center of the car.

Anyone find a hex alternative to the front end screws? Best I can tell the stock ones are a 100 degree 8-32 panhead phillips which have a head diameter of .312". A hex equivalent has a head diameter of .359" which is too big.

Have found all kinds of screws close, but nothing fits correctly like the stock SS screws, I always use them
In fact every screw on the bottom of my Merchants are steel, best place to add the weight

I'm not trying to switch to aluminum - just get rid of the phillips heads. I have absolutely no reason whatsoever to carry a phillips OTHER than for those 4 screws.

I have titanium and aluminum screws and my car is still 20plus grams overweight. 😠

Yeah mine is over as well. My Roche needed 21 grams added to it to make weight...
